What is the finale called?
TV Insider identifies the final episode as “That Man of God May Be Complete.” TIME’s recap uses a different title, “Raising Holy Hell One Last Time,” for the episode it describes as the finale. Because those accounts conflict, the TV Insider title is the one to use here; the discrepancy means the title should not be treated as independently settled. The show’s send-off brought the absurdity of a wealthy megachurch family together with stories about belonging, faith, and family acceptance. In an Associated Press interview before the finale, creator Danny McBride said he hoped religious viewers would recognize that the satire targets hypocrisy, not believers as a whole. Adam DeVine, who plays Kelvin, described Kelvin’s queer-identity story as a possible source of hope for young people seeking acceptance from family and church communities. Edi Patterson, who plays Judy and writes for the series, recalled that the cast shared a church lunch at the end of the season and that people were emotional. She also said the cast did not know for certain during production that it would be the final season, and that the writers had aimed to make each season feel as though it could stand on its own.
