There is no documented single conversation, apology or event that ended a Mike Myers–Dana Carvey feud. The public record points to something less dramatic: Carvey dismissed rumors of friction as “web talk” in 2016, said in 2019 that he and Myers were friends who got along well, and the two continued to appear and work together. Their relationship seems to have remained cordial despite creative disagreements, but neither man has publicly identified a private turning point.
Was there really a feud between Mike Myers and Dana Carvey?
The word “beef” captures the rumors that circulated about the former Saturday Night Live castmates, but it overstates what the available public statements establish. In a July 19, 2016 interview with The Daily Beast, Carvey was asked about longstanding rumors of friction with Myers and called them “web talk.” That was Carvey’s assessment of the rumors—not an account of a reconciliation.

Three years later, Carvey described the relationship directly. In a May 22, 2019 interview with The Howard Stern Show, he said he and Myers were friends and got along great whenever they saw each other. He also said, “I was very lucky to intersect with Mike Myers.”
What disagreements fed the rumors?
Carvey saw a resemblance between Dr. Evil and his Lorne Michaels impression
Carvey said that after seeing Austin Powers, he thought Dr. Evil resembled his impression of SNL creator Lorne Michaels, including the raised pinky. This is Carvey describing a resemblance he perceived; it does not establish that Myers borrowed the impression. Carvey said the two never discussed it: “We never really talked about it. I talked about it to the therapist. I’ve basically let it go.”

Carvey wanted Garth to have more to do in Wayne’s World
Carvey also described a creative disagreement over the first Wayne’s World film. Myers was writing the script, and Carvey felt the material he contributed did not make it into the version he saw. He thought Garth had too little to do, and said he quit about three weeks before filming, telling Myers, “Thanks, but no thanks.”
Carvey said he returned after being allowed to add material, insert himself into scenes and develop a story arc for Garth. His account describes a dispute about the character’s role and the film’s script; it does not by itself show that the disagreement became a lasting personal feud.
What do their later appearances reveal?
Later public interactions are consistent with a friendly, continuing relationship, but they do not disclose how it developed privately. In a Variety interview published June 17, 2025, Myers recalled checking in with Carvey before their Wayne’s World appearance at the SNL 40th anniversary. Carvey, Myers remembered, replied, “Fuck ’em, we’ll go out there and we’ll win them back.” Myers praised Carvey as a great team member. The anecdote shows support in a work setting, not what may or may not have happened between them outside it.
Apple Podcasts lists Myers and his brother Paul as guests on Carvey and David Spade’s Fly on the Wall podcast in an episode published November 17, 2025, described as a “mini Wayne’s World reunion.” That is further evidence of a public reunion, not proof of a particular cause or moment of reconciliation.

So how did Mike Myers and Dana Carvey make up?
The specific answer is not publicly documented. The interviews establish that Carvey recognized professional sore points, said he had let the Dr. Evil resemblance go, rejected the feud rumors as “web talk,” and later called Myers a friend. Their subsequent appearances show that they continued to collaborate and spend time together publicly. None of the cited accounts identifies a decisive apology, private conversation or reunion that ended a personal conflict.
