Spoilers ahead: “11:00 AM,” the fifth episode of The Pitt Season 2, ends with Louie unconscious and flatlining. Langdon finds him, and he and Robby begin CPR—but the episode does not reveal whether Louie survives. Before that cliffhanger, Debbie Cohen’s worsening leg infection becomes a severe sepsis emergency, while Robby’s hostility toward Langdon remains unresolved.
What happens to Debbie in “11:00 AM”?
Debbie Cohen’s cellulitis, an infection in her leg, has spread. Robby tells Langdon that her condition has worsened, bringing the two doctors into contact despite Robby’s open hostility toward his returning colleague.
As the shift progresses, Robby reassesses Debbie and identifies severe sepsis. Her blood pressure and oxygen levels fall, and she goes into septic shock. Robby cuts open her leg to relieve pressure and urgently calls for more help when a surgeon is unavailable. The episode leaves the doctors worried about her condition.
What happens at the end of The Pitt Season 2 Episode 5?

That is the cliffhanger: CPR has begun, but the episode does not show whether Louie is revived. The question of whether the hospital’s beloved patient will make it remains unanswered here.
Where do Robby and Langdon stand?
Robby is preparing for a sabbatical, and his relationship with Langdon—back after rehabilitation—is still strained. He tells Langdon about Debbie’s deterioration, later says Langdon has done enough, and repeatedly refuses to engage with him. Their shared response to Louie’s emergency brings them into action together, but the episode does not present it as a reconciliation.

Robby’s friction extends beyond Langdon. When he questions Dana about a patient’s status, she pushes back. Al-Hashmi also asks Robby to give her the consideration he expects for himself as she prepares to take over as attending.
What else is happening in the hospital?
Charting, staffing, and AI
Santos struggles to catch up on charts. Al-Hashmi supports Santos’s idea of using AI to help with charting, while Robby objects that faster documentation could simply mean treating more patients without higher pay. Dana sends Santos to another patient with help from Ogilvie; Santos diagnoses tuberculosis in an older woman who has a cough.

The cost of care
Mohan persuades uninsured patient Orlando Diaz to stay while Noelle discusses the bill. She offers financial assistance covering 40% of the cost, but the recap notes that Diaz could still owe a large amount. A transfer is arranged without the IV drip Mohan wants.
Other cases on the shift
The episode also includes a man who was tased, an inmate with broken facial and rib bones, a cancer patient receiving hospice care, a woman with a head injury after a seizure, and an elderly patient with constipation. Ogilvie asks Santos how she stays calm; his work on the elderly patient provides a brief gross-out comic moment.

What the ending leaves unresolved
The episode’s immediate medical escalation is Debbie’s septic shock; its final unanswered question is Louie’s fate. The available recap, published by Headtopics and attributed there to Collider on February 5, 2026, describes Louie being found unconscious and flatlining before Robby and Langdon begin CPR. It does not report the outcome, so there is no basis here to say whether he survives.
