A water-slide collapse sends several critical patients into the Pitt, but the episode’s sharpest crisis is inside the ER: Samira Mohan has a panic attack, and Robby initially meets her distress with dismissal rather than care. Al-Hashimi later challenges Robby over his outburst. The hour is most affecting when emergency medicine exposes the staff’s limits, though its many concurrent tensions make the drama feel uneven at points.

“4:00 P.M.” is Season 2, Episode 10 of The Pitt. Apple TV lists it as released March 12, 2026, with a runtime of 40 minutes, and describes an incident at a nearby water park sending several critical patients to the hospital. Reviews identify the incident as a water-slide collapse. The sudden arrivals give the hour its immediate medical urgency, while the exhausted staff and their strained relationships shape what happens around the cases. Mohan is already facing a personal upheaval. Her mother plans to marry, sell the family home, and take a year-long cruise. Mohan had committed to a New Jersey partnership track partly to stay closer to her mother; that plan now rests on assumptions her mother’s choices are changing.

During patient care, Mohan becomes overwhelmed and has a panic attack. Her EKG is normal, but that result does not make her distress imaginary or resolve what triggered it. Robby initially dismisses her. He later apologizes, yet still urges her to refocus on the patients. The episode places the moment in the demanding reality of a crowded ER without making Robby’s response a model of support. Al-Hashimi calls Robby to account
Al-Hashimi later confronts Robby about his outburst. That exchange turns the episode’s tension from an isolated clash into a question about how Robby leads the team: whether pressure excuses a lack of empathy, and whether he can recognize distress in others while managing his own.

Tell-Tale TV reads Robby’s dismissal of Mohan as hypocritical in light of his own history of breaking down. That is the reviewer’s interpretation, not an established explanation of Robby’s behavior. The confrontation lands most clearly as a demand that he answer for the way he treated a colleague. Tell-Tale TV’s review offers that critical reading.

These threads broaden the hour’s emotional reach, but they also compete for space. The immediate water-park emergency supplies a clear engine; the personal stories ask the episode to carry several different kinds of strain at once.

Does “4:00 P.M.” work as an episode?
The critical response is mixed in a useful way. Tell-Tale TV emphasizes the episode’s anxiety and vulnerability, praising Mohan’s emotional exposure, Al-Hashimi’s directness, and the tenderness between McKay and Javadi. The A.V. Club finds the hour clunkier and less balanced, arguing that some interpersonal behavior and unresolved storylines blur its thematic effect. The A.V. Club’s review makes the case for an uneven hour, while Tell-Tale TV’s review foregrounds its emotional successes.
Both readings fit the episode’s push and pull. The water-slide casualties bring suspense and physical urgency; Mohan’s panic attack and Robby’s reaction give that pressure a personal cost. Al-Hashimi’s confrontation makes the cost explicit. At the same time, the Santos–Langdon tension and Roxie’s family story remain in motion rather than resolving neatly here. Viewers who value an ensemble drama that lets conflicts accumulate may find that open-endedness compelling; viewers looking for a tightly unified hour may feel the competing threads pull it off balance.
