Evans writes that she encountered Daniels at a hotel in Lake Tahoe while Daniels was there for a charity golf tournament. According to Evans, Daniels told her she had met Trump and invited her to join them at a party. Evans says she became nervous and stayed behind.
Evans also recalls Daniels calling later and says she heard Trump’s voice inviting her to come. She says she turned off her phone and did not go.

What Evans says she learned the next morning
Evans writes that she contacted Daniels the following morning to ask what had happened. Her essay recounts Daniels’s description of the evening, including a sexualized detail Evans says she remembers vividly. That portion is second-hand: Evans is describing what she says Daniels told her, not something Evans says she witnessed herself.
