There is no reliable, publicly established net-worth ledger for the six principal actors who played James Bond in the Eon film series. Published rankings offer estimates, but they do not establish an audited richest-to-poorest order—and some mix personal wealth with Bond earnings or wealth estimated at death.
Which actors are included?
This comparison covers the six actors identified by the official James Bond site as the principal Eon-series 007s: Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig. David Niven, who played Bond in the non-Eon Casino Royale, is outside that scope. The franchise’s official overview identifies the six, and its 007 First And Last retrospective records their Bond-film chronology.
- Sean Connery: Dr. No (1962) to Diamonds Are Forever (1971).
- George Lazenby: On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (1969), his only Bond film.
- Roger Moore: Live and Let Die (1973) to A View to a Kill (1985).
- Timothy Dalton: The Living Daylights (1987) to Licence to Kill (1989).
- Pierce Brosnan: GoldenEye (1995) to Die Another Day (2002).
- Daniel Craig: began his Bond run with Casino Royale (2006).
Why there is no dependable richest-to-poorest ranking
Personal net worth requires a view of assets and liabilities, not simply an actor’s salary or number of Bond films. The public estimates do not provide a consistent, comparable basis for all six. The available rankings are secondary reporting, not audited disclosures, and their categories vary: a figure may purport to represent total wealth, earnings connected to Bond, or wealth at the time of death.
For example, LoveMoney’s recent ranking reports a $160 million figure for Craig, but the figure remains that publisher’s estimate rather than a verified disclosure. A separate realestate.com.au article about the actors’ property reports an estimated US$350 million / A$504 million for Connery at death. That is a different subject and time basis from a living actor’s estimated total wealth; it cannot be treated as a directly comparable net-worth figure. Repetition of estimates by entertainment outlets does not independently verify them. See the LoveMoney ranking for its own presentation of figures and categories.

What Bond film counts can—and cannot—tell you
The franchise chronology offers context about each actor’s screen tenure, not a measure of lifetime fortune. The official site says Moore completed seven films over twelve years; it does not establish that he had the highest personal net worth. Film counts cannot account for an actor’s other work, investments, assets, debts, taxes, estate arrangements or private transactions.
When quoting any media figure, identify the publisher and publication date, retain its currency and label, and call it an estimate. Do not present a reported Bond salary or Bond-film earnings as the actor’s total wealth.
