Leon Belmont has the strongest direct character appraisal in the official material reviewed, while Trevor and Simon have especially clear Dracula victories. But Castlevania has no official power leaderboard, and the evidence does not support ten Belmonts ranked on equal terms. This ranking compares five mainline Belmonts with enough official story information to make a grounded case; it weighs stated combat ability and major victories, while noting when a win depended on a weapon or allies.
How to read this ranking
This is an editorial ranking, not a canon tier list. Konami’s character and game-history pages describe individual stories and feats; they do not measure fighters from different centuries against one another. The order below reflects the strength of the available evidence for each Belmont’s power, not a claim that the games establish a definitive winner in a hypothetical duel.
The scope is the mainline game history. Lords of Shadow is a separate continuity, so its Gabriel Belmont is discussed separately rather than folded into the same chronology. Weapons, allies, and game mechanics also matter: beating Dracula with the Vampire Killer and help from companions is a formidable achievement, but it is not evidence of unaided strength alone.
The five Belmonts with the clearest evidence
1. Leon Belmont
Leon takes the top spot because Konami’s official Dawn of the Hunter history gives him the clearest direct appraisal of combat ability among the characters covered here. It calls him “a courageous man who feared nothing and whose combat abilities were second to none,” describing him in the story of the Belmont clan’s origins.

- The Castlevania Anniversary Collection on physical disc for the PlayStation 4. Also works on PlayStation 5. Region-free.
That is unusually strong praise, but it is not a comparison across the whole series. It describes Leon in his own era; it does not establish that he would defeat every later Belmont or that he ranks first by a shared in-game measure.
2. Trevor Belmont
Trevor’s case rests on a major victory: Konami’s Belmont’s Curse character page calls him “The hero who defeated Count Dracula twenty-three years ago, armed with the legendary holy whip—the Vampire Killer.” Konami’s Symphony of the Night history also says Alucard teamed up with Trevor against his father. The feat is significant, and the official account makes the weapon and assistance part of the context rather than presenting the victory as a solo test of raw power.
Trevor ranks just below Leon because the sources offer a decisive accomplishment but no comparable direct description of his combat ability. His victory and Leon’s appraisal are different kinds of evidence, not a head-to-head result.

3. Simon Belmont
Konami’s Simon’s Quest page says Simon destroyed Dracula in a duel. Its character copy calls him “bravest of the brave, boldest of the bold, a gothic warrior respected by kings”—promotional wording, rather than a neutral measurement. The duel itself is the more useful evidence of his ability to confront a major threat.

That consequence does not erase the accomplishment, but it matters when weighing what the account actually says about the battle.
4. Richter Belmont
Konami credits Richter with ending Dracula’s menace in the backstory to Symphony of the Night. The Castlevania Advance Collection page identifies him as the Belmont heir and includes Dracula X. Those facts establish his role and a major victory, but the official material covered here does not establish that he is canonically the strongest Belmont.
Rank #3
- 17 Levels - Each one with its own atmosphere, foes and secrets to discover
- 5 Bosses - Made by the most sadistic of the devs, raised on the salt of the testers
- 150 or so weapons and skills - Spears, swords, bows, magic spells, shields, pets, frying pans etc; You name it, we got it
- Unlock the four original Dead Cells DLCs, giving you late-game content plus an entire new pathway to follow, with an alternative ending and tons of new enemies, weapons & outfits
- Battle through the corridors of Dracula’s Castle; Wield weapons against monsters to reach the throne room of the Dark Lord
Richter places below Simon in this evidence-based order because the available account gives less detail about the encounter. That is a limit of the comparison, not proof that Richter is less capable. A firm Richter-versus-Simon verdict would require evidence the official summaries do not provide.
5. Juste Belmont
Konami identifies Juste as Simon’s grandson and the playable Belmont in Harmony of Dissonance. The collection’s description highlights spell fusion, a game system that combines sub-weapons with spell books. That gives Juste a distinctive toolset, but a gameplay feature is not, by itself, proof that he surpasses Belmonts whose stories explicitly describe victories over Dracula.

This position says more about the available evidence than it does about a definitive ceiling on his power.

Why the ranking stops at five
The requested count of ten would imply a level of comparison the available official evidence does not support. Adding characters with missing feats, mixing alternate continuities without warning, or treating a descendant as a clan member would make the list look more certain than it is. These cases are relevant to the broader question, but they cannot be placed responsibly in the same ranked field on the evidence available.
Quincy Morris: a Belmont descendant, not a direct surname match
Konami describes Quincy Morris as a Belmont descendant who defeated Dracula in 1897 and died shortly after the battle. That makes him important to the family’s legacy, but the official description does not call him a Belmont clan member by surname. He is therefore not included in a ranking explicitly limited to Belmont characters.
Gabriel Belmont: a separate continuity
Konami’s official Lords of Shadow support summary describes Gabriel as a holy knight and places Trevor and Simon among his descendants in that branch’s story. Because Lords of Shadow has its own continuity, Gabriel should not be silently ranked against mainline Belmonts as if all of their stories belonged to one chronology.

Julius Belmont: a familiar contender, but not settled here
Julius is an obvious name in discussions of the strongest Belmont, but the official pages used for this comparison do not establish his feats or his place relative to Richter. Declaring him the strongest without a specific, authoritative game account to support the claim would turn a fan opinion into a supposed canon fact. This ranking therefore leaves Julius unplaced rather than inventing evidence.
Rose Belmont: no released-game feats to rank as of October 8, 2026
Konami identifies Rose as Trevor’s daughter, a young hunter, and the protagonist of Belmont’s Curse. The page lists October 15, 2026 as the game’s announced date, which is still in the future as of October 8, 2026. Her background makes her relevant to the family’s story, but an unreleased character’s promised role is not evidence of demonstrated power.
What “strongest Belmont” can—and cannot—mean
If “strongest” means the Belmont with the strongest direct official appraisal, Leon has the best-supported case in this comparison. If it means a proven Dracula victory, Trevor, Simon, and Richter each have one, but the sources describe their conditions and encounters differently. Neither interpretation produces an official cross-generation champion.
That distinction is why the order is best read as a ranking of demonstrated evidence, not a prediction of who would win in a fight. The official accounts support meaningful comparisons, but they do not resolve every matchup or supply ten evenly documented candidates.
