Brittany Snow says Sophie O’Neil’s story in The Hunting Wives Season 2 grows more dangerous—and ends up “a big old mess.” Netflix has announced that the series returns November 26, 2026, with Sophie and Margo estranged before secrets and new foes bring them back together.
What Brittany Snow said about Sophie in Season 2
At a June 2026 FYC panel, Snow described Sophie’s Season 1 unraveling as only the beginning. “Sophie, as a character, gets to be unraveled little bit by little bit in Season 1, and then in Season 2 … the sweater is unraveled, the whole thing is a big old mess,” she said, according to TheWrap’s June 13, 2026 report.
Snow also said Sophie’s uncertainty about who she should be and who she is—and “the danger of that”—was “even more danger to play” in Season 2. Her comments point to a character under greater pressure, but do not reveal specific new plot events.
When does The Hunting Wives Season 2 come out?
Netflix’s August 20, 2026 season guide lists November 26, 2026, as the return date. Netflix is the announced streaming home; the guide does not establish territory-by-territory availability.

What is Season 2 about?
Netflix describes Season 2 as an original-script continuation. Its logline begins with Sophie and Margo “on the outs”; old secrets and new foes then force them together again. That sets up a renewed alliance without specifying how their relationship changes or which secrets emerge.
Who is returning?
Brittany Snow returns as Sophie O’Neil, alongside Malin Akerman as Margo Banks. Netflix’s guide also lists returning cast members Dermot Mulroney as Jed Banks, Evan Jonigkeit as Graham O’Neil, Jaime Ray Newman as Callie Baskin, George Ferrier as Brad Thompson, and Karen Rodriguez as Deputy Wanda Salazar.

Snow’s earlier production comments
At the Golden Globes on January 11, 2026, Snow told the Associated Press that the cast was about to shoot Season 2’s fifth episode. She said, “I wish that Sophie made better choices,” adding, “But we love to watch her make bad choices.” Snow also called Sophie an imperfect, entertaining character to play. These were remarks from January, not a current update on production.
Season 3 is renewed
Netflix announced a Season 3 renewal on October 7, 2026. Creator and showrunner Rebecca Cutter said she was “super proud of how the scripts for Season 3 are coming out.” Netflix’s announcement did not give a release date or production schedule.

How the series relates to May Cobb’s novel
The Hunting Wives is based on May Cobb’s 2021 novel, while Netflix describes Season 2 as an original-script continuation. The book is the source material for the series, not a guide to Season 2’s plot. Netflix reported that the novel reached No. 4 on Amazon’s bestsellers list and No. 1 on its women’s psychological fiction list after the series’ release; those are Netflix-reported rankings, not independent sales totals. Netflix also said the show spent five weeks on its global English Top 10 TV list and drew more than 20 million views during that period.
