There is no single all-time “highest-scoring” celebrity on Dancing With the Stars: the answer depends on the metric. By season-long judges’ average, Kristi Yamaguchi leads the cited database at 28.33 in Season 6. By total perfect-scoring dances, Jordan Fisher leads TV Insider’s count with nine through 34 completed U.S. seasons. Those are different records, not competing versions of one ranking. The current U.S. season, Season 35, was still airing on October 7, 2026, so it is not included in the completed-season count.
Who has the highest average score?
Reality TV World’s season-average table ranks celebrities by their best overall judges’ average in a season and counts All-Stars as a separate season. It places Kristi Yamaguchi first, Gilles Marini second, and Melissa Rycroft third. These are the database’s figures, not an official ABC all-time leaderboard; its opened table does not show a publication date.

Who has the most perfect-scoring dances?
That ranking uses a different measure: the total number of dances awarded perfect scores across a contestant’s appearances. TV Insider’s September 15, 2026 count covers 34 completed U.S. seasons, not the in-progress Season 35.

What is the single-season record for perfect 30s?
A third measure focuses on one season rather than a contestant’s career total. Reality TV World identifies Jennifer Grey’s six perfect 30s in Season 11 as the record in its database; it lists her season average as 27.2. This is not the same as having the most perfect-scoring dances across multiple seasons.

Why a high score does not guarantee a win
Judges’ scores are only part of the competition result. ABC News reported that Ricki Lake led the Season 13 finalists in scores but finished third, while J.R. Martinez won. The outcome combined judges’ scores with viewers’ votes, so a leaderboard based on judges alone cannot by itself predict the winner.
Judges’ comments can also refer to a single dance rather than an all-time standing. After Rob Kardashian’s Season 13 fox trot, head judge Len Goodman said, “You’ve got the best footwork of virtually any guy I’ve seen on this show.” That was praise for that performance, not a statistical all-time ranking.

- Season average: the listed average for a contestant’s best season in the Reality TV World table. It answers who had the highest average, not who accumulated the most perfect dances.
- Perfect-dance total: TV Insider’s count across 34 completed seasons. It answers who received the most perfect-scoring dances in that accounting.
- Single-season perfect 30s: the database’s Season 11 record for Jennifer Grey. It measures one season only.
Do not compare raw point totals across seasons as if every season had identical structures or scoring formats. The cited sources do not provide a complete official normalization method, and ABC’s official show page does not publish a consolidated all-time score leaderboard.
ABC’s official show page identifies Season 35 and lists an episode dated October 7, 2026. Since that season was still airing at that point, rankings based on completed seasons should be updated only after its results are final.
