There is no public, comparable accounting here of how much each Garth Brooks song has earned. So a definitive highest-grossing ranking would be misleading. What can be ranked responsibly is a set of major singles by the certified sales of the albums that feature them—a useful measure of their album context, but not of any song’s individual revenue.
Why a true song-by-song revenue ranking isn’t available
The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) describes its Gold & Platinum program as a benchmark for recorded music success, but certifications are not a public ledger of gross revenue for each track. They cannot show how much a particular Brooks song earned from sales, streams, licensing, or other uses. RIAA Gold & Platinum

Certifications also reflect changing measurement rules. RIAA introduced its Digital Single Award in 2004 and added on-demand streaming to single and album awards in 2013. As a result, certifications from different release eras do not represent identical measurement contexts. RIAA certification history
A transparent proxy: major singles on highly certified albums
The list below orders albums by the certification figures published on Brooks’s official album pages. The songs named are number-one singles associated with those albums; the album figures are not sales totals for the songs, nor should they be divided among the tracks. These figures are album-level certifications, not song-level gross revenue.
#1 Best Overall
-
“The Thunder Rolls,” “Friends in Low Places,” “Unanswered Prayers” and “Two of a Kind, Workin’ on a Full House”
All four are identified by Brooks’s official site as consecutive number-one country singles from No Fences. The same page reports that the album was RIAA certified for sales of over 18 million units. That figure belongs to No Fences as a whole; it does not establish which of the four songs earned the most. Garth Brooks: No Fences
-
“Shameless,” “The River” and “What She’s Doing Now”
Brooks’s official Ropin’ the Wind page lists these as number-one singles and reports over 14 million certified album units. The certification applies to the album, not to the individual tracks. Garth Brooks: Ropin’ the Wind

-
“If Tomorrow Never Comes” and “The Dance”
The official page for Brooks’s debut album identifies both as number-one country singles and reports the album’s certification above 10 million units. This is album-level context, not a measure of either song’s separate sales or revenue. Garth Brooks: Garth Brooks
-
“Ain’t Going Down (’Til The Sun Comes Up)” and “American Honky-Tonk Bar Association”
Brooks’s official In Pieces page lists both as number-one country singles and reports over 10 million certified album units. That total describes the album, not either song individually. Garth Brooks: In Pieces

What this ordering does—and doesn’t—tell you
Within this limited set, No Fences has the largest album certification figure cited on Brooks’s official pages, followed by Ropin’ the Wind; the debut album and In Pieces are each reported above 10 million units. This makes the order a comparison of album certification claims, not a definitive ranking of the songs on them. The sources here do not provide a complete, comparable set of individual-song certifications, chart longevity, or revenue figures that would support a song-by-song ranking.
Brooks’s official biography reports 20 Billboard number-one singles, a measure of career chart success rather than earnings. Separately, RIAA reported in 2025 that Luke Combs had become the highest RIAA-certified country artist in history at 168 million certified units; that is artist-level context, not evidence about the revenue of Brooks’s individual songs.
