BestSellingAlbums.org aggregates country-level sales estimates and certification records; its artist ranking page says it was updated March 24, 2023. The totals below are the figures reported by that database, not an official global sales ledger. Certification dates, thresholds and country coverage vary.

The album page also lists a US milestone of 5,000,000 units, certified 5× Platinum by the RIAA on May 8, 1996, and a UK milestone of 900,000 units, certified 3× Platinum by the BPI on December 1, 1993. Those are certification records shown by the database, not new sales audits.
2. Waking Up the Neighbours (1991): 8,254,372 copies
The album ranks second in BestSellingAlbums.org’s artist-page estimate. Its reported total is 165,520 copies higher than the estimate for Reckless. The database page provides the ranking figure; it should not be read as a definitive audited worldwide count.

3. Reckless (1984): 8,088,852 copies
BestSellingAlbums.org reports 8,088,852 copies and lists the United States (5,000,000), Canada (1,226,000) and United Kingdom (900,000) among its leading markets. These are country entries in the database, not a complete worldwide subtotal to add together and substitute for the reported estimate. The album remains a studio release, distinct from the compilation at the top of this all-album list.
Bryan Adams’s official catalogue lists a 2014 remaster, a 2CD set, DVD, Blu-ray pure-audio edition and vinyl edition of Reckless. The catalogue does not establish current retailer stock. (Bryan Adams official albums catalogue)

What “highest-grossing” means here
The ranking is best understood as a comparison within one database’s country-based estimates, rather than a definitive measure of revenue or a universally settled worldwide sales count. Different country coverage, inclusion of compilations or reissues, and treatment of streaming can alter both totals and order. BestSellingAlbums.org also reports more than 40.9 million albums for Adams overall, but that, too, is the page’s database total rather than a current official artist statement.
