The first LEGO Pokémon sets launched on February 27, 2026—not in a future February release. LEGO’s opening collection comprised three adult-oriented display builds, led by set 72153: a 6,838-piece Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise diorama with a U.S. launch-announcement list price of $649.99. That rounded figure is the basis for the “$650” description; it is not a universal price or a guarantee of today’s retailer pricing.

What was in the first LEGO Pokémon collection?

LEGO and The Pokémon Company International announced the range on January 12, 2026, and made the three sets available on February 27. LEGO’s announcement offered preorders from January 12 through LEGO.com/Pokemon and said the products would be available through LEGO.com, LEGO Stores and selected retailers in launch markets. Those were the announced preorder and launch plans, not confirmation of current stock.

All three original sets carry an 18+ designation. They are designed as detailed display builds rather than children’s playsets.

Set Pieces U.S. launch-announcement list price Build and display details
Eevee (72151) 587 $59.99 One character; 7.5 in. (19 cm) tall, 6 in. (15 cm) wide and 8.5 in. (21 cm) deep.
Pikachu and Poké Ball (72152) 2,050 $199.99 Pikachu with a Poké Ball; over 13.5 in. (35 cm) tall, 10.5 in. (26 cm) wide and 15.5 in. (39 cm) deep.
Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise (72153) 6,838 $649.99 Three-model display; over 20 in. (50 cm) high, 21 in. (54 cm) wide and 14 in. (36 cm) long.

Prices are U.S. dollar list prices stated in LEGO’s launch announcement; the announcement also gave different euro and pound prices. They are not current-price or stock information. LEGO’s January 2026 announcement provides the launch specifications.

What does the $650 LEGO Pokémon diorama include?

Set 72153 builds Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise in their final known forms. LEGO’s Spring 2026 U.S. catalog describes three separate Pokémon models on beach, jungle and volcano biome stands. Each model can be removed and stood alone, while the stands connect to form a larger scene. Charizard stands over 9 inches tall, according to the catalog.

The set combines the highest launch price and largest piece count of the three original products with a multi-character scene. Its footprint—over 20 inches high, 21 inches wide and 14 inches long in LEGO’s launch announcement—is worth considering if display space is limited. The catalog lists 6,838 pieces and $649.99. LEGO’s Spring 2026 U.S. catalog contains the stand and model details.

Which of the three original sets best fits your display?

The launch sets are distinct choices rather than similarly scaled alternatives. The useful comparison is what you want to build and how much room and budget you have:

  • Choose Eevee (72151) for a single-character build and the smallest footprint among the three.
  • Choose Pikachu and Poké Ball (72152) for a larger centerpiece focused on Pikachu, with the Poké Ball as part of the presentation.
  • Choose Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise (72153) for a connected, three-biome display featuring three Pokémon.

The listed prices above are the U.S. launch-announcement figures. LEGO’s current U.S. Pokémon theme page presents the sets as detailed display pieces and collectibles for adults; its lineup and retailer availability can change. Check LEGO’s U.S. Pokémon theme page for its current listings.

Were these the only LEGO Pokémon sets?

No. They were the first collection, not the entire range. On July 7, 2026, LEGO announced five additional sets, with availability from August 1 for some products and from October 1 for Iconic Trainer Moments Poké Ball (72154) and Up-Scaled Red Minifigure (40868). At the time of the cited U.S. theme-page check, its listings also included products such as Arcanine, Rayquaza and Munchlax. Later releases belong to the expanded range, not the original February collection. LEGO’s July 2026 announcement gives the additional release details.

LEGO later introduced a separate SMART Play range for children aged 6 and up. That is a different product line from the three adult-oriented 18+ display builds in the first collection.
