Spoilers: The Fantastic Four: First Steps has two credits scenes. The mid-credits scene shows Doctor Doom beside Franklin Richards in a story tease set four years after the film’s main conflict. The scene after the full credits is an animated Fantastic Four cartoon: a playful bonus, not another plot setup.
What happens in the mid-credits scene?
Four years after the Fantastic Four’s confrontation with Galactus, Sue Storm is reading with her son, Franklin. She steps away to get another book. When she returns, she senses someone else in the room and finds Franklin with a cloaked figure holding a mask.

The green cloak and mask identify the figure as Doctor Doom, but the film does not show his face. The moment confirms that Doom is present and interacting with Franklin; it does not reveal why he is there, what he plans to do, or whether Franklin will be taken.
It is tempting to read the encounter as a sign that Franklin’s powers have drawn Doom’s attention, but that is an interpretation, not an answer the scene provides. The Los Angeles Times identifies the film’s setting as Earth-828 and notes that Doom first appeared in Fantastic Four No. 5 in 1962—brief context for the character’s connection to the team, not an explanation of his plans in the film.

#1 Best Overall
- Set against the backdrop of a ?60s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, Marvel?s First Family faces a daunting challenge. Forced to balance being heroes with their family bond, they must defend Earth from a space god and his enigmatic herald.
What happens after the full credits?
The final scene shifts from live action to an animated segment presented as a Fantastic Four television program within the film’s world. The team faces comic-book villains including Red Ghost and the Super Apes, and Ben Grimm delivers his familiar line, “It’s clobberin’ time.”
Unlike the mid-credits reveal, the cartoon is a self-contained, comedic tribute to the team’s fictional fame and animated history. TheWrap describes it as a light bonus rather than a hint about what comes next.
