The Eagles opened the Australian leg of their History of the Eagles tour at Perth Arena on Wednesday, 18 February 2015, before a sold-out crowd, according to PerthNow’s review published the next day. The retrospective concert began acoustically, widened into a full-band performance, and moved through the group’s catalogue with stories and video footage. The band played Perth again on 19 February; that was a separate show.
When the Eagles played Perth Arena
The sold-out concert covered here took place on Wednesday, 18 February 2015. It opened the Australian leg of the Eagles’ History of the Eagles tour. Frontier Touring’s archived tour notice also lists a second Perth Arena performance for Thursday, 19 February, so accounts of the two nights should not be conflated.

PerthNow described Perth Arena as a 15,000-capacity venue, as did X-Press Magazine. That figure is reported venue capacity, not a verified attendance count for the 18 February concert. The contemporary coverage calls the show sold out, but no audited ticket total is established in these accounts.
How the 18 February concert unfolded
An acoustic opening
PerthNow’s account begins with Don Henley and Glenn Frey performing “Saturday Night.” Bernie Leadon joined them for “Train Leaves Here This Morning,” Timothy B. Schmit for “Peaceful Easy Feeling,” and Joe Walsh for “Witchy Woman.” The full ensemble then came on for “Doolin-Dalton.”

X-Press Magazine’s review also describes an acoustic start and the staging expanding as the concert progressed. Both reviews characterize the evening as a career-spanning performance, with video interludes and a large ensemble; X-Press specifically praised the vocal harmonies.
A catalogue told in sequence
PerthNow said the show moved through the band’s back catalogue in chronological order, using stories and video imagery to frame the music. In its account of the later portion, the review lists “New Kid in Town,” “Love Will Keep Us Alive,” “Heartache Tonight,” Walsh’s “In the City” and “Life’s Been Good,” and “Life in the Fast Lane,” which it identifies as the pre-encore closer.

PerthNow also reported that Walsh joked during the show, “I spent a week (in Perth) one night!” The newspaper and X-Press both described a request for the audience to put away phones. That is their account of the concert experience, not confirmation of a formal venue-wide phone policy.
The reported encores
According to PerthNow’s review, the band returned for two encores: first “Hotel California,” then “Take It Easy,” “Rocky Mountain Way,” and “Desperado.” This sequence is the newspaper’s account of the 18 February performance, rather than an official setlist.

Why the tour used the documentary’s name
The tour was built around the career retrospective History of the Eagles, combining familiar songs with spoken recollections and archival video. Frontier Touring’s archived notice connected the concert tour with the documentary, which it said was available on DVD and Blu-ray. Those formats refer to the documentary, not a recording of the Perth Arena concert.
Frontier Touring’s notice dated 13 February 2015 described the Australia/New Zealand run as 14 major concerts and forecast close to 250,000 attendees across both countries. These were promoter figures and an attendance projection, not audited totals. The same notice listed stops in Melbourne, Hanging Rock, Sydney, the Hunter Valley, Brisbane, and Auckland after the Perth opening. In a separate notice dated 8 August 2014, Frontier said nine shows on the upcoming itinerary were sold out; that figure concerned the broader tour, not nine Perth dates.

Sources and the second Perth night
The central account of the 18 February show comes from Kristy Symonds’s PerthNow review, published 19 February 2015. X-Press Magazine published a separate review on 20 February. Frontier Touring’s archive establishes the tour dates and supplies the promoter’s tour-scale figures. A setlist.fm entry documents 19 February, the second Perth performance; it is community-maintained and should not be treated as definitive evidence for the previous night’s set.
