The Devil’s Plan returned for Season 2 under the title The Devil’s Plan: Death Room. The Korean competition reality series brought 14 contestants into strategic games, with pieces serving as both currency and leverage—and with a new prison match shaping who could stay in the game.
What is The Devil’s Plan: Death Room?
It is the second season of Netflix’s Korean competition reality series The Devil’s Plan, created by Jeong Jong-yeon. Netflix describes the show as a contest built around strategic games; Season 2 adds a separate prison area and makes pieces matter across more parts of the competition. Netflix’s official series page lists the show and its viewing details.
The season’s subtitle, Death Room, points to the prison area’s role in the format. It is not simply a separate setting: low piece totals can put contestants into a prison match where elimination is at stake.
When did The Devil’s Plan Season 2 come out?
Season 2 premiered on May 6, 2025. Netflix Tudum reported that the first nine episodes were available then, with the final three scheduled for May 20, 2025. These were the season’s original release dates.

How does Season 2’s game work?
Pieces are currency and leverage
Contestants can earn, spend, lose, and negotiate with pieces. Pieces also affect access to hidden stages and living quarters, so their value extends beyond a simple score. A contestant who loses all their pieces is eliminated.
The prison match creates a new elimination route
The season separates the prison area from the dorms. Players with the fewest pieces face the prison match, and the lowest performer in that match is eliminated. The match is therefore both a consequence of a weak piece position and a direct elimination challenge; it is not accurate to say that every player who enters prison is automatically eliminated.
