The Chase: Double Trouble was announced as an Australian variation of the quiz show in which contestants faced two Chasers instead of one. Channel 7 announced its premiere for Monday 29 January 2024 on Channel 7 and 7plus; that was the launch schedule, not confirmation of where the show is available now.

What changed in Double Trouble?

In the familiar format of The Chase, a contestant tries to stay ahead of one Chaser. In Double Trouble, the challenge was built around a pair of Chasers. Seven described the concept as a world first for The Chase series; that claim should not be read as an independently established claim about every quiz show.

Matt Parkinson, known on the show as Goliath, told 7NEWS that the contestants would not know which Chasers they would face. He also said: “It’s been fun for us to muck around together because it’s usually a solo game.” 7NEWS published the interview on 28 January 2024.

Which Chasers were paired?

Launch coverage named pairings including The Supernerd with The Smiling Assassin, and The Shark with Tiger Mum. The pairings illustrate the two-Chaser premise; they do not establish a complete or permanent roster. PerthNow reported the pairings as part of its launch coverage.
