Shannen Doherty, who played Prue Halliwell in the first three seasons, died in 2024. Here is what dated reporting says about the principal cast and a few familiar recurring performers.
How the Halliwell sisters’ cast changed
Paramount+’s UK listing describes the original Charmed as an eight-season fantasy series about sisters with magical powers. The central cast changed after its first three seasons: Shannen Doherty played eldest sister Prue, and Rose McGowan joined in season four as Paige, the sisters’ half-sister. Le Monde reported that Doherty died on July 13, 2024, aged 53, after breast cancer.

Cast members’ paths after Charmed
Holly Marie Combs: acting and a cast-reunion podcast
Combs played Piper Halliwell. A July 2025 Us Weekly cast retrospective reported that she cohosts The House of Halliwell with former castmates Drew Fuller and Brian Krause.
In an interview report published August 27, 2026, The Daily Beast quoted Combs explaining that she stepped away from acting because the roles being offered did not appeal to her. She said, “The stuff that I was getting and coming across my desk was just nothing that I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, this is really great. I need to do this,’” The report said she might consider returning to the screen after her youngest son graduates high school; that was a conditional possibility, not an announced return.
Alyssa Milano: later screen work and a podcast
Milano played Phoebe Halliwell. Us Weekly’s July 2025 retrospective listed a 2025 cameo in Elsbeth and her podcast, Alyssa Milano: Sorry Not Sorry. Those are the dated updates reported there, not a complete account of her current work.
Rose McGowan: Paige and work behind the camera
McGowan joined the series as Paige in season four. The same July 2025 retrospective summarized later acting, producing, and directing work, including Citizen Rose (2018). It does not provide a complete current project slate.

Brian Krause and Drew Fuller: acting and revisiting the series
Krause played Leo Wyatt. Us Weekly’s July 2025 retrospective reported later acting work and his The House of Halliwell cohosting role alongside Combs and Fuller. Fuller played Chris Halliwell and is also a cohost. Apple TV’s season-eight cast listing includes Chris among the characters.
Other familiar cast members
Apple TV’s season-eight listing also credits Dorian Gregory as Darryl Morris and Julian McMahon as Cole Turner. Us Weekly’s July 2025 retrospective gives later-career summaries for Gregory and Kaley Cuoco, who joined the show in its later seasons. These sources offer career snapshots rather than comprehensive reports of what each performer is doing now.

Where to revisit the original series
Streaming catalogs vary by country and date. Paramount+’s linked listing is for the UK, so it should not be taken as confirmation of availability in other regions. For a physical option, Best Buy lists Charmed: The Complete Series as a 48-disc DVD set; that listing establishes the product, not current stock or price elsewhere.
For cast commentary, Combs, Fuller, and Krause’s The House of Halliwell is the reunion project identified in the 2025 retrospective and 2026 Combs interview.
