The reports document speculation about Erin Moriarty’s appearance and her response—not verified evidence that she had cosmetic procedures. In January 2024, Moriarty challenged Megyn Kelly’s comparison photos, saying they were taken almost a decade apart and that the newer image showed professional makeup and “major contouring.”
What sparked the rumors?
On January 17, 2024, commentator Megyn Kelly discussed plastic surgery on her SiriusXM show with Michael Knowles and speculated about Moriarty’s appearance, naming possible lip changes, a nose job and cheek implants. Those were Kelly’s allegations, not established facts about Moriarty. The Los Angeles Times’ account and Sky News’ report describe the episode and the ensuing response.
What did Moriarty say about the comparison?
In a statement reported on January 29, Moriarty disputed the framing of the images. She said the older photograph was almost a decade old, rather than recent, and that the newer selfie showed professional makeup with “major contouring.” The comparison therefore did not, by itself, establish that she had undergone any procedure.
Moriarty also described the reaction as upsetting. The Los Angeles Times quoted her saying, “I am horrified by the reaction, the reductive assumptions, and the aforementioned video that is a primary example of such harassment. It’s broken my heart. You’ve broken my heart.” She announced a break from Instagram. The newspaper reported that colleagues from The Boys, including showrunner Eric Kripke and co-stars, publicly supported her. Entertainment Tonight also reported on her response and social-media break.

What is verified—and what remains unconfirmed?

What does Moriarty’s later Graves’ disease disclosure add?
In a May 14, 2026 interview with ELLE, Moriarty discussed her Graves’ disease diagnosis and symptoms around the filming of The Boys season 5. That is relevant health context, but it does not show that the condition caused any particular change in her appearance, nor does it resolve the 2024 claims. A diagnosis should not be inferred from photographs.

Why the distinction matters
The central evidence is a public commentator’s speculation, Moriarty’s first-person disagreement with the comparison, and reporting about what followed. Treating the speculation as proof—or using images or a health disclosure to diagnose her—goes beyond what those accounts establish.
