Homelander returns to the underground Vought laboratory where he was raised, turning memories of childhood experiments into a violent reckoning with the people who carried them out. The visit is the episode’s brutal center, but it is not simple catharsis: Homelander’s revenge also shows him repeating the cruelty that shaped him.

Yet the scene offers no clean victory over his past: in inflicting violence on others, Homelander reproduces the abuse and dehumanization that defined his own upbringing.
