The available evidence does not support a reliable top-ten ranking of the most expensive Shark Tank deals or a complete accounting of what those companies have made since. It does support three reported examples—Zipz, Vengo and RoboBurger—and a useful caution: a televised deal amount, a company’s revenue and an investor’s return are different things.
Why a definitive top-ten ranking is not established
A large on-air offer is not automatically a completed investment. The parties may change the terms or fail to close after filming, and the deal may combine equity with a loan or royalty. Even when a company later reports revenue, that figure does not reveal its profit or how much an investor received.
A partial syndicated excerpt says that some large Shark Tank deals did not produce the most profitable businesses and mentions successful companies including LARQ and Bombas, but it does not provide the complete ten-company list or enough financial detail to rank them. The available material therefore cannot verify the article implied by a top-ten headline. The Things excerpt

| Company | Reported deal | Reported later development | What the figures do—and do not—show |
|---|---|---|---|
| Zipz | $2.5 million for 10% equity; the recap describes the deal as contingent on Costco placement. | The recap says Zipz exited the wine business in 2016 and shifted its focus to licensing its packaging technology. | The reported offer is not proof of a completed investment or an investor’s realized return. No later revenue, profit or proceeds figure is established here. |
| Vengo | $2 million structured as a 7% loan plus 3% equity, with repayment over 36 months. | The recap reports $15 million in annual revenue as of 2024. | Revenue is not profit, and neither the revenue figure nor the deal terms establish how much a Shark earned. |
| RoboBurger | $1.5 million for 9% equity, according to the recap’s comparison table. | The recap reports $1.4 million in revenue in 2023 and says the business added breakfast sandwiches and plant-based burgers. | The reported revenue is not an investor-return figure and has not been independently confirmed against company records here. |
Was Zipz the biggest Shark Tank deal?
The recap’s reported $2.5 million Zipz offer is the largest of these three examples. That does not establish that it was the largest completed investment across every season: the available evidence does not supply a comprehensive, comparable list of offers or confirm completion of the Zipz transaction. Its Costco condition also matters when interpreting the headline amount.
Why Doorbot and Ring need a different label
Doorbot, later known as Ring, is a prominent example of an offer that should not be counted as a completed Shark Tank investment. A partial excerpt says founder Jamie Siminoff left the show without accepting Kevin O’Leary’s offer. It reports that Amazon later acquired Ring in a deal estimated at $1 billion, but that estimate is not established here as the final transaction value—and an acquisition estimate is not a Shark’s return from a Shark Tank deal. - Valuation: an estimate of a company’s worth at a particular time, not cash paid to its owners.
- Acquisition price: the amount associated with a sale, which may be reported as an estimate and does not by itself show what any particular investor received.
- Investor return: cash actually returned to an investor, which would require evidence about deal completion, repayment, dilution, exit terms and proceeds. No such return is established for these examples.
