For an October 2026 snapshot, Tom’s Guide ranked five films newly added to Netflix by Rotten Tomatoes critic score: Moonlight leads at 98%, followed by Psycho at 97%, Call Me by Your Name at 95%, and Dallas Buyers Club and The Bourne Ultimatum, tied at 92%. These are catalog arrivals, not films newly released in October. Availability can vary by Netflix region.
How this October ranking works
The order and scores below come from Tom’s Guide’s October 3, 2026 roundup; they are not a live or independently recalculated Rotten Tomatoes ranking. The percentages are critic scores as reported by that outlet. Tom’s Guide excluded unreleased Netflix originals without Rotten Tomatoes scores and used audience ratings to break ties. The two films at 92% therefore share a critic score, even though the roundup places one ahead of the other.

A Rotten Tomatoes score summarizes critics’ reviews; it cannot tell you whether a movie will suit your taste. Use the premise and genre as well as the percentage when choosing. Netflix availability also depends on region, and the cited listings do not establish that every title is available worldwide.

What “new to Netflix” means this month
Here, “new” means newly added to Netflix, not newly made or newly released in theaters. Rotten Tomatoes’ October streaming calendar, published October 5, identifies The Bourne Ultimatum, Call Me by Your Name, and Dallas Buyers Club among Netflix’s October 1 arrivals. The available listings do not establish identical availability in every country, so check your local Netflix catalog.
There is more to the October slate than this five-film score ranking. Netflix’s September 30 slate announcement also lists East of Eden, Zoe Kazan’s adaptation of John Steinbeck’s novel starring Florence Pugh, Christopher Abbott, and Mike Faist, and Animals, a thriller starring Kerry Washington and Ben Affleck, who co-wrote and directed it. Those official slate descriptions provide context, but do not place either title in this ranking.
