What’s streaming this week: subscription premieres scheduled for October 9
A weekly release guide schedules these titles for October 9. They are subscription premieres, not the paid VOD releases above. The schedule is a listing rather than a guarantee that a title is live everywhere at a particular hour; check your service’s catalog and plan.
- Animals — crime thriller, Netflix.
- Disclosure Day — action, mystery and science-fiction thriller, Peacock.
- Matchbox: The Movie — action adventure, Apple TV.

How to choose between rent-or-buy and a subscription
- Want one particular new release? Check its digital storefront listing and compare the rental and purchase options before checkout. The guides identify Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Fall 2: Deadpoint and Insidious: Out of the Further as paid rent-or-buy titles; do not assume that a Prime Video listing means the title is included in Prime.
- Already subscribe to one of the listed services? Look for the October 9 premieres in that service’s live catalog. The schedule does not establish that every title is available in every region or under every plan.
- Checking a library title? Paramount+’s official October movie list includes arrivals from October 1 and later, but warns that some titles require its Premium plan and that dates can change. It is not confirmation that every listed title is currently available to every subscriber or territory.
Availability and timing to verify
This is a U.S.-oriented snapshot checked October 8, 2026, not a guarantee of live inventory. Before choosing a movie, confirm its listing in your own country, whether it is a rental, purchase or subscription title, any required plan tier, and the current price. The October 9 subscription dates are upcoming relative to the check date; consult the service directly to confirm whether they have arrived and remain available. Tom’s Guide’s October streaming schedule also notes that schedules can change.
These picks are selected for their release timing and range of genres, not ranked by a shared review score: the listings do not provide a common, comparable rating set.
