Shakira and Bizarrap’s “BZRP Music Sessions #53,” released January 12, 2023, quickly inspired memes built around its lyrics, breakup context and sharp wordplay. Contemporary coverage documented everything from the defiant “facturan” refrain to jokes about Casio, Rolex and a Twingo. These examples are grouped by how the jokes work—not ranked by popularity.
Why the song became meme material
The song’s pointed lyrics gave listeners phrases they could reuse, reinterpret and turn into visual reactions. Sony Music Colombia’s January 12, 2023 announcement described Bizarrap’s distinctive synthesizer sound and an 1980s-linked spirit, and framed Shakira’s message as empowerment and overcoming adversity. The lyrics’ references were also widely read by listeners as allusions to Shakira’s former partner Gerard Piqué and Clara Chía; those are audience interpretations reported by media, not proof of private intent.

The release attracted substantial early attention. Univision reported more than 28 million YouTube plays in the first 24 hours in contemporary coverage. Guinness World Records later recorded 63,000,000 YouTube views in 24 hours, 14,393,342 Spotify plays in 24 hours and 80,646,962 Spotify plays in one week. These are Guinness’s historical record figures, published March 10, 2023; they are distinct from Univision’s earlier report and are not current play counts.
Memes built on lyric wordplay
“Sal-pique” and “Clara-mente”
Univision documented memes that split or emphasized parts of “salpiqué” and “claramente” to evoke Piqué’s surname and Clara’s name. Reaction images imagined the people being referenced noticing the lyrics. The joke depends on hearing names inside Spanish words, and on the audience’s familiarity with the breakup story; it should be understood as wordplay and interpretation, not confirmation of authorial intent.

“Una loba como yo no está pa’ tipos como tú”
The “loba” line supplied another recognizable phrase for reaction posts and crossover jokes. Univision noted a meme pairing Wednesday’s Enid with the lyric, using the contrast between the character’s familiar image and Shakira’s defiant line as the punchline.
“Las mujeres ya no lloran, las mujeres facturan” became a breakup refrain
The line translates roughly as “Women don’t cry anymore; women make money.” Sony’s announcement foregrounded it as part of the song’s empowerment message. Memes took the phrase in both its confident spirit and a self-deprecating direction: some joked about crying after a breakup instead of “facturing”—earning or bringing in money. That gap between the triumphant slogan and ordinary heartbreak made the phrase especially adaptable.

Casio, Rolex and Twingo jokes
Another set of posts played on the song’s comparisons involving Casio and Rolex watches and a Renault Twingo. Contemporary meme roundups showed imagined reactions from brand marketers, owners and other observers, turning the comparisons into jokes about which side of the contrast someone belonged to. These references are part of the meme’s setup, not endorsements of the brands or recommendations to buy anything.
Reaction images, heartbreak and “Amanecimos bravas”
Noticias Caracol collected posts depicting Piqué hearing the song, while La Nación documented the burst of meme reactions around its release. Such images supplied a visual punchline to the lyrics’ perceived targets and dramatic tone. Univision also described fans treating the track as a breakup or infidelity anthem, and recorded “Amanecimos bravas” (“We woke up fierce/angry”) as shorthand for a defiant mood.

Coverage captured varied audience responses to the song’s public indirectness: some celebrated its forceful breakup message, while others were critical of airing relationship-directed lyrics so publicly. The memes therefore were not all simple approval; their jokes could express solidarity, amusement or discomfort.
A generational callback for longtime fans
Univision reported a comparison between younger listeners encountering the new song and older Shakira fans recalling “Te aviso, te anuncio.” The callback connected a new wave of lyric memes to an earlier era of Shakira’s music, making the reaction itself a joke about different generations hearing the same artist through different reference points.

What the meme record can—and cannot—show
Univision, Noticias Caracol, La Nación and Know Your Meme document examples and recurring formats, including lyric puns, brand comparisons, reaction images and crossover jokes. They do not establish a definitive all-platform ranking, nor do they prove which individual posts remain accessible today. The most useful way to read this meme wave is as a snapshot of how listeners turned a widely discussed release into distinct forms of wordplay, heartbreak humor and cultural callbacks.
