The line is a critic’s judgment, not a confirmed scene ranking—and the available evidence does not support naming the sequence he had in mind.
Where the claim comes from
The wording appears in Matthew Liedke’s personal review of Superman (2025), published July 12, 2025. He describes the film’s action as entertaining overall, while saying that few moments made a strong impression on him and that some set pieces feel like “monster of the week” episodes. He then singles out an unnamed action scene as the film’s best, despite Superman not being involved.
Liedke’s review discusses Superman, Lois Lane, Lex Luthor and the Justice Gang, along with story threads involving a geopolitical conflict, a dimensional-prison plot, Clark and Lois’s relationship, and Clark’s Kryptonian heritage. That is the critic’s account of the film, not an official scene guide or production explanation.
Which action scene does Liedke mean?
The review does not say. It offers no character names, setting, plot detail or other clue that pins down the sequence. Naming a particular scene would therefore be speculation, not an answer supported by Liedke’s published explanation.

Nor does the available material provide an official breakdown, a filmmaker’s comment, or independent corroboration of the ranking. Without first identifying the scene, it is not possible to compare it fairly with the film’s other action sequences.
How to read the review’s verdict
“Best” here is a personal critical assessment. Liedke’s broader response is mixed: he praises aspects of the film but criticizes its plot, character handling and overall entertainment value. His sentence signals that one action sequence stood out to him; it does not establish a consensus among critics or audiences, or explain what made that scene work.
