It describes a novel called The Beast as a science-fiction romance with characters named Elara and Kai. The page does not name an author, publisher, edition, or ISBN, and we could not match the title to a published book record. Treat the genre description and character names as the review’s own claims, not as confirmed facts about a book.
What the review claims
The review is built around a single premise suggested by its headline: a sweeping science-fiction romance set against a world that is always ending. Beyond the genre label and the two character names, the page gives little concrete detail about plot, setting, or structure. It also does not establish whether The Beast is a book, a self-published work, a serialized story, or something else.

Nothing in the available sources links the title to a film, television series, or documentary. The review’s reception section, however, drifts into film territory, which is covered below.

#1 Best Overall
- It embeds Amazon recommendations for other titles. Those books are unrelated to The Beast as far as the page shows, and their presence says nothing about whether the novel exists or is well regarded.
- Its critical-reception section shifts to describing a film rather than a book.
- It includes an approximate Rotten Tomatoes-style percentage with no source. Because that figure is attached to film-oriented copy, it should not be read as a measure of the book’s reception.
- Its byline is a team name, so no named reviewer stands behind the opinions and no individual quotation can be attributed.
How to check whether the book is real
If you want to confirm the title before reading or buying, work through these checks in order.
- Search the exact title in quotation marks, adding the word “novel” and the word “ISBN” to the query.
- Search the two character names together with “science fiction.” A published novel with these names would normally appear in publisher catalogues or retailer listings. If nothing relevant appears across several searches, that is itself a finding.
- Look for the author’s own website or social profile, and check whether it names a publisher, release date, or ISBN.
- Once you have an ISBN, confirm it in a bibliographic database or the publisher’s catalogue. Make sure the author and edition match what the review describes.
- Compare the review’s date with the book’s release date. A review dated before any listing exists may describe a manuscript, a preview, or nothing that can be found later.
What to do with the review for now
- If you find a verified author, publisher, and ISBN: compare the review’s description with the publisher’s own blurb and sample pages before deciding whether the book suits you.
- If you find no verified record: treat the premise as unverified and do not buy or recommend the book on the strength of this review alone.
- Ignore the recommended books on the page: they are not substitutes for The Beast and are not evidence about it.
The review itself can be read at techyorker.com, with the caveats above in mind.
