Episode descriptions include the couple trying to put on a brave face for their children, returning home after the trial, attending therapy and Alec considering whether to return to acting. That is TLC’s framing of the program; it is not a legal account of the Rust case.
What the premiere says about the Rust shooting
The Los Angeles Times reported on February 20, 2025 that the premiere addresses the 2021 shooting on the set of Rust. The newspaper quoted Hilaria and Alec Baldwin describing the tragedy’s impact on their family and acknowledging Halyna Hutchins’s death.

These are selected statements as reported by the Los Angeles Times, not a complete transcript of the trailer or episode. The paper also reported Hilaria’s statement that Alec had been diagnosed with PTSD. That is her reported description, not independent confirmation of a diagnosis.
How the show differs from the legal record
The family’s account in a reality series and the court proceedings answer different questions. TLC’s episode descriptions and the reported dialogue describe how the Baldwins present the event’s effects on their household; they do not establish criminal or civil liability.
The Associated Press reported that a New Mexico judge dismissed the involuntary-manslaughter charge against Alec Baldwin in July 2024. AP later reported on Baldwin’s civil suit, which alleges malicious prosecution and civil-rights violations, as well as separate litigation involving Hutchins’s family. Allegations in a civil complaint are not judicial findings. The legal developments summarized here do not establish the current status of those civil matters.
