The episode was the season 27 finale, listed as episode 11, and aired March 27, 2023. Apple TV’s episode listing describes Jesse Palmer sitting down with Zach and the final three women to discuss the season.
Zach ends things with Gabi before proposing
Zach spoke with Gabi first and told her he would not choose her. TVLine’s contemporaneous finale recap reports that Gabi stopped him during his explanation and later described the experience as humiliating. Gabi’s distress was not simply disappointment at losing the proposal. She was also upset that Zach had publicly disclosed that they had slept together during an overnight date. At the studio reunion, she said she felt violated by that disclosure. TVLine reports that Zach apologized for how he handled it, saying, “The way I handled things was completely wrong.” Her concern was about the exposure of a private moment in the show’s public format, not merely the result of the final choice.
Kaity accepts Zach’s proposal
After ending his relationship with Gabi, Zach proposed to Kaity, and she accepted. Kaity expressed her certainty with the words, “Honestly, if it’s not you, it’s not anyone,” as reported by TVLine. ABC says the diamond engagement ring was provided by Neil Lane Couture, but does not identify a model or price.
