A season that moves several threads at once is expanding its world; one that rotates through them slowly is closer to continuing the original format.
Do you need to read Oliver Twist first?
No. The series is inspired by characters from Dickens’s novel, not a faithful adaptation, so the book is optional context. If you want it, any complete edition of Oliver Twist will serve; no specific edition is recommended here.
