The documentary may make the UFO subject feel more serious; it does not establish that extraterrestrial beings or craft have been found.
What is The Age of Disclosure about?
Directed and produced by Dan Farah, the 2025 documentary features 34 people it describes as U.S. government, military and intelligence insiders. It argues that non-human intelligent life has been concealed for roughly 80 years and that major nations are competing to reverse-engineer technology of non-human origin. Those are the film’s claims, not established findings. The official film site describes its participants and the documentary’s central argument.
The film’s strongest asset is access. Farah told The Guardian that he sought people with direct knowledge from their government work, and that “Everyone’s names would be kept silent until it was done.” The number and seniority of participants lend the film institutional weight, but they do not by themselves corroborate what those participants say.
Does the documentary prove aliens are real?
No. The reported case rests predominantly on testimony, including claims about events said to be classified or too sensitive to detail. The Guardian’s festival coverage notes that the film does not give viewers hard evidence that independently verifies its claims. Its interviews can be taken as consequential allegations and a call for transparency; they are not a demonstration that extraterrestrial beings or craft have been recovered.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
This distinction matters because a witness can be credible and still be relaying information rather than describing something personally observed. David Grusch, a former intelligence official whose claims form part of the disclosure conversation, told a House committee in 2023: “I was informed, in the course of my official duties, of a multi-decade UAP crash retrieval and reverse-engineering program, to which I was denied access.” The Guardian’s account of the hearing also reported that Grusch had not personally seen the alleged craft and based his claim on interviews with others. A Pentagon spokeswoman said investigators had found no verifiable information substantiating programs to possess or reverse-engineer extraterrestrial materials.
The same care is needed with Marco Rubio’s remarks used in the film. In a later interview, Rubio clarified that he was describing allegations brought to him, not firsthand knowledge in that regard, according to The Guardian. That does not settle the allegations; it does show why the source of a statement—direct observation or something reported by others—matters.

What do official UAP reviews establish?
“Unidentified” means that a case has not been identified from the information available. It is not another word for extraterrestrial. A 2024 report on the Pentagon’s review said the investigators examined 757 cases reported to U.S. authorities between 1 May 2023 and 1 June 2024. They found explanations for nearly 300, including balloons, birds, aircraft, drones and satellites; many other cases lacked enough information for a firm conclusion.
The report quoted the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO): “It is important to underscore that, to date, AARO has discovered no evidence of extraterrestrial beings, activity or technology.” The Associated Press report describes the cases and evidence reviewed. That conclusion does not prove life beyond Earth is impossible; it means the reviewed cases did not establish it.

Is The Age of Disclosure worth watching?
It may be worth watching if you want to hear the claims and understand why some former officials argue that more information should be released. The polished presentation and range of interviewees make the subject feel weightier than a collection of anonymous internet claims. But weight of access is not weight of proof.
The film gives limited space to skeptical scrutiny. The Guardian’s later report includes criticism from science writer Michael Shermer, author Jason Colavito and Boston University space physicist Joshua Semeter, who raise concerns including anecdotal evidence and old or low-resolution footage. Those are their assessments, not a substitute for evaluating each claim. The underlying review question is whether the documentary lets viewers inspect corroborating evidence—or chiefly asks them to trust witnesses.

When comparing it with another UAP documentary, look at four things:
- Source transparency: Does the film make clear who is speaking and what their basis of knowledge is?
- Firsthand versus relayed claims: Can witnesses distinguish what they saw from what they were told?
- Independent scrutiny: Are technical analysis and skeptical perspectives included?
- Inspectable evidence: Can viewers examine material that supports the claim, or must they rely on testimony?
