The Acolyte Season 1, Episode 4 is officially titled “Day,” but its trip into Khofar’s forest points toward darkness. Mae and Qimir are hunting Jedi Master Kelnacca, while Sol brings Osha and a Jedi team to reach him first. Spoilers follow, including the episode’s cliffhanger.
What is the official title of The Acolyte Episode 4?
“Day” is the official title of Season 1, Episode 4. StarWars.com lists the episode as released June 18, 2024, with a TV-14 rating. “Welcome to the Jungle” is an editorial subtitle, not the episode’s official title. StarWars.com’s episode guide provides the episode metadata and premise.
Why are both groups racing to Khofar?
After Osha has found Mae and cleared her own name, she says goodbye to Jecki on Coruscant. Mae and Qimir remain at large, and Kelnacca is the next Jedi on Mae’s kill list. Sol persuades Vernestra Rwoh to let him take Osha with him as the Jedi race to Khofar, where Kelnacca has withdrawn into dense forest.
The two parties arrive with different aims: Mae and Qimir intend to find Kelnacca, while Sol, Osha, and the Jedi team hope to prevent another killing and capture Mae. The official episode highlights, published June 19, 2024, frame Sol’s urgency in light of his guilt over leaving Mae for dead and his attachment to Osha. That is interpretive context from the highlights, rather than a line of dialogue.

What changes for Mae after she sees Osha?
Seeing Osha begins to unsettle Mae’s determination to continue her mission. Their reunion makes the distance between the sisters immediate: Osha is with the Jedi, and Mae is still moving toward Kelnacca’s death. The official highlights also describe Mae as jealous that Osha left their family to join the Jedi, adding a personal grievance to the twins’ conflicting loyalties.
Osha has her own doubts. She is uneasy that she did not bring Mae in sooner. The episode lets both sisters’ choices carry emotional weight without resolving their divide: Mae’s change of heart is a shift in resolve, not a completed reconciliation.

What does the forest trek add to the story?
Khofar makes the Jedi’s pursuit physically dangerous and gives the search party room to emerge as a group. Jecki Lon and Yord Fandar accompany Sol, alongside Ithia Paan, a Kel Dor Jedi identified in the official highlights. Bazil, a Tynnan tracker, leads them through the forest.
- The terrain is hazardous. The guide warns of booby traps and dangerous wildlife, so the trek is more than a straightforward march to Kelnacca’s shelter.
- The wildlife affects the action. The highlights describe a winged umbramoth drawn toward light, forcing Sol to defend himself with his lightsaber.
- The setting recalls Brendok. Kelnacca’s shelter bears the symbol associated with the witches’ Ascension ceremony, linking his hiding place to the twins’ past.
- The pursuit closes in. As darkness falls, Bazil alerts the team that Mae has been spotted. Qimir’s remark captures the difficulty of finding Kelnacca: “That is one Jedi that doesn’t want to be found.”
Who is the masked figure at the end?
Spoilers for the ending: The Jedi discover Kelnacca’s fate before they can protect him. With the light extinguished, a helmeted, cloaked stranger appears, sends Osha aside, and faces the assembled Jedi. The episode guide describes the adversary as masked and carrying a red lightsaber.
