TechRadar’s 2024 roundup names 50 television series worth considering, grouped by streaming service rather than ranked from best to worst. Published on 28 December 2024, the list is a year-end selection by senior entertainment reporter Tom Power—not an objective league table—and covers Apple TV Plus, Disney Plus, Hulu, Max, Netflix, Paramount Plus, Peacock and Prime Video.
How TechRadar organized its 50 picks
Power says the shows are “categorized by the streamer they were released on and listed in alphabetical order, with the main reasons I think they stand out from the pack.” That means the order within a service is alphabetical, not a score or ranking. The descriptions offer qualitative reasons to consider a show, including performances, storytelling, pacing, genre execution and adaptation choices; TechRadar does not present these as a formal scoring system.
The roundup is also broader than its headline’s mention of Netflix, Prime Video, Max and Disney Plus. It has eight service categories:
- Apple TV Plus
- Disney Plus
- Hulu
- Max
- Netflix
- Paramount Plus
- Peacock
- Prime Video
Examples highlighted in the feature include Bad Monkey and Masters of the Air for Apple TV Plus; Agatha All Along and X-Men ’97 for Disney Plus; The Penguin for Max; Arcane season 2 and Baby Reindeer for Netflix; The Day of the Jackal for Peacock; and Fallout and The Rings of Power season 2 for Prime Video. These examples show that the selection includes both new series and returning seasons.

What the list can—and can’t—tell you
Use the service headings to narrow the list to a platform you can access, then read the individual descriptions for the kind of appeal that matters to you: a lead performance, a genre handled well, a compelling story, or an adaptation that works. The article’s judgments belong to Power; they are recommendations, not a consensus ranking or a measure of audience popularity.
TechRadar says its roundup grew from 34 entries in its 2023 feature to 50 in 2024. Those numbers count selections in the two editorial lists; they do not measure the number of shows released industry-wide, audience size or streaming subscriptions.
