Manga spoilers: This ranking includes both human fighters and demons, and considers demonstrated combat ability across the manga. The order is an editorial assessment—not an official ranking published by Koyoharu Gotouge or Shonen Jump. It weighs physical power, speed, skill, special abilities, durability and performance in battle; it does not treat Hashira status as a numerical score.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba follows Tanjiro and Nezuko after a demon attacks their family and Nezuko becomes a demon, as summarized on Shonen Jump’s official series page. The official character listings include Mitsuri Kanroji, Shinobu Kocho, Kanao Tsuyuri and Nezuko Kamado, but do not rank them against one another. Since the available official material does not establish a fourteen-character order, the placements below should be read as a reasoned fan ranking, not canon.
Why this ranking includes demons and humans
Restricting the list to human demon slayers would exclude several of the series’ most dangerous female combatants. This ranking therefore compares women on both sides of the conflict, including demons, while judging what they can do in a fight rather than their moral alignment or narrative importance. Demons’ regeneration and supernatural abilities count alongside human swordsmanship, breathing techniques and physical strength.
Temporary states and special abilities count when they are part of a character’s demonstrated combat capability. Teamwork and preparation matter when they materially shape a fight, but they do not automatically make one character stronger than another. The order is necessarily debatable: the official pages establish character identities and some descriptions, not a complete power scale.

The 14 strongest women in Demon Slayer
14. Aoi Kanzaki
Aoi has training and experience as a Demon Slayer, but her clearest contribution in the story is support rather than frontline combat. She belongs in a broad ranking of women in the series, yet the evidence shown for her fighting ability places her below characters with major battles or stronger demonstrated techniques.
13. Kiyo Terauchi
Kiyo is one of the young attendants at the Butterfly Mansion. She helps injured slayers recover, but the story does not establish her as a significant combatant. Her placement reflects the limited fighting ability demonstrated on page, not a claim that she lacks potential.
12. Sumi Nakahara
Like Kiyo, Sumi is associated with the Butterfly Mansion and its recovery work rather than decisive battles. There is little evidence to compare her with the experienced fighters higher on this list, so this lower placement is based on what the manga shows rather than an invented measure of her strength.
11. Naho Takada
Naho also serves at the Butterfly Mansion. The series gives her a supporting role and does not show her matching the combat feats of trained swordswomen or demons. That makes her difficult to place precisely, but it also makes a high ranking unsupported.

Makio is a kunoichi and can defend herself, giving her a stronger case as a combatant than the mansion attendants. Her skills are useful in a dangerous mission, but her demonstrated fighting record is limited beside the sustained battles and more exceptional abilities of the characters above her.
Rank #2
9. Suma
Suma is another kunoichi who takes part in the Entertainment District mission. Her combat experience and training put her ahead of noncombat support characters, although she is not presented as a top-tier fighter. Her placement acknowledges practical ability without equating it with Hashira-level performance.
8. Hinatsuru
Hinatsuru’s kunoichi training and measured approach make her especially useful in a coordinated fight. Her contribution in the Entertainment District demonstrates how preparation and specialized tools can affect an opponent who would be difficult to challenge directly. She ranks above Makio and Suma for her more consequential role in that confrontation, but remains below the series’ foremost combatants.
7. Kanao Tsuyuri
Kanao is a highly capable swordswoman whose composure, speed and precision distinguish her from ordinary members of the Corps. Her fighting skill gives her a clear advantage over the supporting fighters lower on this list. She falls below the leading slayers and demons here because the strongest entries combine comparable skill with greater raw power, extraordinary abilities or more formidable battle records.

6. Shinobu Kocho
Shinobu is the Insect Hashira, but her ranking does not rest on title alone. She compensates for limited brute force with speed, sword technique and poison—a lethal approach that lets her threaten demons in ways a conventional contest of strength would not. Her strategy and specialized fighting style make her more dangerous than raw-muscle comparisons suggest, though her build and reliance on poison limit her in a direct contest of physical power.
5. Daki
Daki’s demon abilities give her a substantial advantage over most human fighters: she can use her obi as weapons, attack at range and recover from injury. Her position reflects both those powers and the danger she poses in battle. She ranks below the strongest demons and slayers here because her performance is affected by the circumstances of her fights and the presence of her brother, Gyutaro.
4. Nakime
Nakime’s strength is less about hand-to-hand combat than battlefield control. Her ability to manipulate the Infinity Castle can separate opponents, disrupt their plans and turn the environment into a weapon. That makes her exceptionally dangerous in the right setting. She is not ranked above the final three because her power is more specialized and the series gives less evidence of direct fighting ability.
3. Mitsuri Kanroji
Mitsuri is the Love Hashira, and the official anime character page describes her as having “extraordinary strength” despite her delicate appearance. SEGA’s official The Hinokami Chronicles 2 character page likewise says, “She possesses remarkable strength far greater than her delicate appearance might suggest.” Those descriptions support her unusual physical power, while her flexible Nichirin sword and Love Breathing give her an unconventional reach and striking style. Her combination of strength, speed and technique puts her above most human fighters, though the top two have advantages tied to demonic powers and exceptional durability.

Doma is a demon with overwhelming combat capabilities, including deadly ice-based attacks and the regeneration that makes demons so difficult to defeat. His special abilities let him threaten multiple opponents and control the terms of a fight. He ranks just below the top entry because the strongest demon in this comparison combines similarly extraordinary power with a more dominant overall combat presence.
1. Muzan Kibutsuji
Muzan is the strongest woman-coded combatant in this ranking’s comparison of female characters, and the most powerful demon at the center of the series’ conflict. His shapeshifting body, speed, destructive attacks and regeneration make him an opponent of a different scale from ordinary slayers. This top placement reflects his demonstrated threat and range of abilities, not a published franchise ranking.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to read the placements
The largest uncertainties are among characters with limited screen or page time and between fighters whose strengths are not directly comparable. A poison specialist, a swordswoman, a demon with regeneration and a fighter who controls the battlefield do not share one simple measure of strength. The ranking is most useful as a comparison of demonstrated combat threat, not as a claim that every matchup would end in the listed order.
For readers who want to check the story’s events and character development directly, Shonen Jump’s official Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba page lists the manga volumes. The page is a source for the series and its publication, not a strength guide.
