Bluey was the most-watched streaming TV title in the United States in Nielsen’s 2025 cross-service ranking, followed by Grey’s Anatomy and Stranger Things. The ranking covers viewing through television screens from December 30, 2024, through December 28, 2025; it is not a current-week chart or a global, all-device count.
The 10 most-watched streaming shows in the U.S. in 2025
Nielsen ranked these titles by total streaming minutes viewed by people age 2 and older during the defined 2025 measurement period. The figures for ranks four through ten are not stated in the visible annual ranking, so the table lists titles and rank without estimating their minutes.

What the ranking measures—and what it does not
Nielsen’s annual list draws on its Streaming Content Ratings and National TV Panel, measuring streaming viewing through television screens in the United States. Its rank is based on accumulated minutes watched by persons 2 and older, not the number of unique viewers, households, or episodes played. A person watching the same episode more than once adds viewing time; the ranking does not count that as a new viewer.

Nielsen’s reporting names Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Disney+, HBO Max, Hulu, Netflix, Paramount+, Peacock, Starz, and Pluto TV among the providers with program-level data. The provider list is not an exhaustive list of everything included: Nielsen says its totals include streaming viewing beyond the distributors displayed. Why Bluey, Grey’s Anatomy, and Stranger Things led
Bluey: 45.2 billion minutes
Bluey led the 2025 ranking with 45.2 billion minutes viewed on Disney+. This is a total of viewing time, not a count of 45.2 billion separate plays or viewers.

Grey’s Anatomy: 40.9 billion minutes
Grey’s Anatomy placed second with 40.9 billion minutes across Netflix and Hulu. Its position reflects the viewing recorded across those services in Nielsen’s U.S. television-screen measurement.
Stranger Things: 40.0 billion minutes
Stranger Things ranked third with 40.0 billion minutes on Netflix. Nielsen says 25.1 billion of those minutes accrued over a five-week period. The annual measurement ended December 28, 2025, before viewing of the series finale was included, so the annual figure does not capture that finale’s subsequent viewing.

How this differs from a “most streamed right now” list
An annual ranking answers which titles accumulated the most viewing over a full year. A weekly chart answers a different question and can change quickly as new episodes arrive, a show trends, or viewers revisit a back catalog. Nielsen announced on September 16, 2026, that client access to its Streaming Content Ratings would move from weekly to daily delivery, with an accelerated public Top 10 report expected to begin the following day for August 31–September 6. The public chart later displayed September 14–20, 2026. Check the dated Nielsen chart for a current-week snapshot rather than treating an annual list as current-week results; the update is described in Nielsen’s September 2026 announcement.
Platform charts should not be merged casually with Nielsen’s list. Netflix describes its own weekly global Top 10 as ranking by hours viewed per title, Monday through Sunday, with each season counted separately. That is a service-specific global chart with a different unit and scope from Nielsen’s U.S. cross-service, TV-screen ranking. Read Netflix’s Top 10 methodology before comparing the two.

Streaming’s broader context in December 2025
Streaming accounted for 47.5% of U.S. television viewing in December 2025, according to Nielsen’s monthly Gauge report. That share describes television viewing during that month—not the proportion of all media use, a global share, or the percentage of people who streamed. In the same month, Stranger Things was the most-watched streaming title, with more than 15 billion viewing minutes. Those December figures are a monthly snapshot and should not be confused with the annual rankings above. Nielsen’s December 2025 Gauge report provides that context.
