These are not global rankings, unique-viewer counts, or a live October 5 chart. The list below preserves Nielsen’s order and its reported services.
The 10 biggest series by U.S. streaming minutes
Nielsen’s Streaming Content Ratings and National TV Panel chart ranks programs by total minutes viewed. Nielsen says its charts cover platforms with program-level data in specific reporting systems; viewing data are inclusive of streaming viewership to all platforms beyond the providers shown. It is therefore a measured cross-service snapshot, not a complete platform-by-platform census. See Nielsen’s streaming Top 10.

All figures are Nielsen’s U.S. totals for September 14–20, 2026, among persons aged 2+, not a count of distinct viewers. A minutes ranking can favor a series watched repeatedly or with many episodes available; it does not measure how many people sampled a show.

Netflix’s U.S. Top 10
Netflix’s separate U.S. weekly chart for September 21–27, 2026 puts Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story first, A Different World second, and Wonka’s The Golden Ticket third. The next seven are The Great British Baking Show: Collection 14, Raw: 2026, Not a Stranger, Jo Koy: Blue in the Face, Crew Girl, Ms. Rachel, and Danny Go! This chart ranks Netflix shows in the United States, not titles across all streamers; Netflix notes that availability can vary by region. Check Netflix’s U.S. Top 10 for the platform-specific list.

JustWatch’s daily activity charts
JustWatch’s U.S. Streaming Charts were updated October 4, 2026. They use actions by JustWatch users—such as clicking a streaming offer, adding a title to a watchlist, or marking it seen—rather than measured viewing minutes. JustWatch says it collects data from more than 45 million movie and TV fans monthly, and that its charts cover 4,500 services across 140 countries. How to interpret “biggest” and find a show
- Minutes watched: Nielsen’s dated U.S. chart offers a comparable cross-service ranking by viewing time within its stated scope.
- Most popular on one service: A platform’s own Top 10 answers which titles rank on that platform and in that region, not how they compare with every competitor.
- Discovery activity: JustWatch reflects actions by its own users, not total audience viewing.
So “What are the most popular shows on streaming right now?” has no single answer until you specify the metric, country, and week. The Nielsen list is the strongest cross-service answer in this article, but it ends September 20; the Netflix and JustWatch snapshots use different methods and dates. To answer “Where can I watch [show]?”, check the service’s current catalog or a regional availability guide for your location before relying on any platform listing: rights and availability can change.

Netflix reported more than 97 billion hours watched by members across the service in January–June 2026, its highest half-year total to that point. That is platform-wide viewing over six months, not a title-by-title weekly figure, so it cannot be compared directly with Nielsen’s weekly minutes for individual series. Netflix says its What We Watched reports quantify hours viewed over six-month periods and that it plans to move to annual reports starting in Q1 2027. See Netflix’s first-half 2026 report.
