Thalia Graves spoke publicly in Los Angeles on September 24, 2024, the day she filed a civil lawsuit against Sean “Diddy” Combs and another person. Graves alleged in the complaint that the men drugged and raped her at a Manhattan Bad Boy Records studio in 2001, and that the assault was recorded and later shared without her consent. Those claims have not been established by the complaint or by the separate court ruling discussed below.
What Thalia Graves said at the press conference
Graves appeared with attorney Gloria Allred. In remarks reported by TheWrap, Graves described the effects she said the assault had on her: “The internal pain after being sexually assaulted has been incredibly deep and hard to put into words.” She also said, “The trauma of the assault has taken a toll on my mental health.”

At the end of her remarks, Graves said, “I am glad that he is locked up, but that’s a temporary feeling of relief.” TheWrap also reported Allred saying that victims often do not speak publicly about the specific damages criminal acts cause them. These statements were made at the press conference; they are not court findings or independent medical evidence.
What the lawsuit alleges
Graves filed her complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on September 24, 2024. In it, she alleged that Combs and another person drugged and raped her in 2001 at a Bad Boy Records studio in Manhattan. She also alleged that the assault was recorded and later disseminated without her consent. The complaint is a record of Graves’s allegations, not proof that they occurred.

What is known about the case’s status
The underlying action is Graves v. Combs et al., No. 1:2024cv07201. A Justia docket listing identifies the September 24, 2024 filing date, but the listing was last retrieved on July 17, 2025. It does not establish the case’s status as of October 8, 2026, so a current status cannot be stated confidently from that record.

Joseph Sherman brought a separate case against Graves and Allred. On June 2, 2025, a federal court dismissed Sherman’s claims in that action. The order described Graves’s case against Sherman and Combs as pending at that time; it did not decide whether Graves’s allegations were true or false. The ruling is available in Document 43 in Sherman v. Graves et al..
