What did the first-aid warning say?
The notice at the cinema door, reproduced by The Independent, read: “Warning! This film contains extreme violence and excessive gore. If you are feeling unwell, please find a member of staff. Staff trained in first aid are on site.”
It warned viewers about the film’s content, told anyone feeling unwell to seek a staff member, and stated that staff trained in first aid were present. It does not say that anyone received first aid, and it is a venue notice—not a warning issued by a named medical authority. The Independent reproduced the notice.

Why did the director advise viewers to leave if they could not handle it?
Writer-director Damien Leone said the film’s opening was intended to signal what viewers could expect. In an October 2024 interview with Novastream, he said: “We sort of blatantly draw a line in the sand and let you know what this movie is. And that happens at like the six-minute mark, so if you can’t handle that – leave at the point! Don’t test yourself!” Read the Novastream interview.
That is Leone’s description of his creative intention and his advice to viewers, not a medical recommendation or an audience study. The film was written and directed by Leone; Cineverse announced a nationwide release date of October 11, 2024. Cineverse’s September 23, 2024 announcement promoted the film’s intensity and early reactions, but those promotional claims are not independent audience research.

Do walkouts or illness happen to everyone watching Terrifier?
No representative study or statistic establishing a walkout or illness rate for Terrifier 3 is identified in the sources reviewed. A single screening’s count, without an attendance total or systematic measurement, cannot show how often viewers leave or become ill. Leone has also recalled applause at a couple of screenings after a major scene, and described the original Terrifier audience response as a mix of laughter, boos, cheers and screaming.
