The Telethon Family Festival is scheduled for Sunday, 18 October 2026, from 10am to 4pm—not October 19, the date in a headline about the 2025 event. The 2026 festival is free and will span Yagan Square, Wellington Street and RAC Arena, with a separate Family Fun Zone at Forrest Place running until 3pm.
Why does the headline say October 19?
The October 19 date refers to the 2025 Telethon Family Festival, which PerthNow reported was scheduled for Sunday, 19 October 2025. The current official listings give the next festival date as Sunday, 18 October 2026. Check the year when sharing or planning around older headlines. PerthNow’s 2025 report and the City of Perth event notice identify the respective dates.
When and where is the 2026 festival?
The City of Perth lists the free event for 10am–4pm on Sunday, 18 October 2026. It describes the festival as stretching from Yagan Square along Wellington Street to RAC Arena; the City specifies the Wellington Street section between Elder Street and William Street. See the City of Perth notice.
Forrest Place has a separately listed Family Fun Zone, open 10am–3pm. The different closing times matter if you are planning to visit more than one area. Visit Perth’s Family Fun Zone listing.

What does the 80,000-family figure mean?
Telethon’s 2025 impact report says the Family Festival drew 80,000 families. That is a figure reported by the organisation in its impact report, not an independently audited attendance count, and it is not an estimate for 2026. Read Telethon’s 2025 impact report.
