That was a proposed agreement, not the final sentence: on November 12, Judge Paul A. Engelmayer sentenced Hernandez to 45 days in prison, followed by home restrictions, curfews, electronic monitoring and an additional year of supervision.
What the November 2024 deal proposed
The agreement announced on November 6 called for a month in jail, then a month of home incarceration, a month of home detention and a month under curfew. It also included electronic monitoring and one additional year of court supervision. Those were the proposed terms; the judge later imposed a different prison term.
What sentence did 6ix9ine actually receive?
On November 12, 2024, Judge Engelmayer sentenced Hernandez to 45 days in prison. The Associated Press reported that after prison he would face a month of home incarceration, a month of home detention, curfews and electronic monitoring, as well as a one-year extension of probation.
Why was Hernandez arrested?
Hernandez was arrested on October 29, 2024, after complaints from his probation officer about failed drug tests and travel without advance permission. These were reported as violations of the conditions of his supervised release.

The case followed Hernandez’s 2019 guilty plea in a racketeering case involving the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods. He received a two-year prison sentence and was released early in April 2020 during the COVID-19 crisis, according to the Associated Press.
What was said at sentencing?
Speaking to the judge during the 2024 proceeding, Hernandez said, “I’m not a bad person.” Judge Engelmayer told him to “say to me loud and clear that you don’t believe the rules apply to you,” the Associated Press reported.

A later legal development
The 45-day sentence was not the last reported legal development. In July 2025, the Associated Press reported that Hernandez admitted possessing drugs found at his Miami home, with sentencing scheduled for September 25, 2025. That report alone does not establish the outcome of the later hearing, so it should not be treated as an account of his current legal status.
