The planned five-day Teen Mom-themed cruise for April 2026 was canceled, according to a November 3, 2025 report by The Ashley. Showroom Travel’s owner reportedly told customers to dispute their payments, but the published account does not confirm that refunds were completed. Although cast members made fraud-related accusations about the organizer, the available reporting does not establish a court finding of fraud or a total amount lost by Teen Mom cruise customers.
What was the Teen Mom cruise, and when was it canceled?
The event was announced on August 6, 2025 as a five-day Caribbean sailing scheduled for April 2026 aboard Royal Caribbean’s Explorer of the Seas. It was due to depart from Cape Canaveral, Florida, and include CocoCay and the Bahamas. The announced cast lineup included Catelynn Lowell, Tyler Baltierra, Leah Messer, Jenelle Evans, Ashley Jones, Briana DeJesus, Jade Cline and Sean Austin, according to The Ashley’s announcement report.
On November 3, 2025, The Ashley reported that Showroom Travel had confirmed the cancellation of the Teen Mom sailing along with other reality-themed cruises. This is the planned April 2026 event—not a separate Teen Mom cruise cancellation from 2017.
Why are people calling it fraud?
The fraud language comes from accusations made in public statements and media reports, including claims by cast members connected to other affected cruises that Showroom Travel sold trips under false pretenses, failed to meet obligations and did not pay or compensate talent. Those are allegations, not a legal finding. The reporting cited here does not establish that a court determined Showroom Travel committed fraud.

The Ashley also reported an explanation from Showroom Travel owner Mike Gibson. He said revenue from one cruise had been used toward deposits for other Postgame Cruises, and that cancellations and unmet future sales goals left the company without enough funds to pay all talent. Gibson accepted responsibility as owner and said, “Sadly I bit off more than I can chew.” His account is an attributed statement, not an independent audit of the company’s finances.
What did Showroom Travel say about refunds?
The initial cancellation report said a company spokesperson promised a 100% refund for future cruises. The Ashley later reported that Gibson urged customers to dispute their charges. He said disputes would be approved and that Stripe would reissue payment to the original method within 5–7 business days after receiving them.

That timeframe was Gibson’s stated estimate, not a verified record of completed refunds. The reports do not establish how many Teen Mom customers were affected, the total amount they paid, what proportion ultimately received money back, or whether refunds were completed.
What should you do if you booked the cruise?
- Gather your records. Keep your booking confirmation, payment receipt or card statement, cancellation notice, and all messages about refunds or disputes.
- Contact the payment provider you used. Ask your bank, card issuer or payment service what dispute process applies to your transaction, what evidence it needs, and any deadlines. Do not assume a promised refund or a dispute will produce a particular outcome.
- Keep a written record. Save copies of correspondence, note when you contacted the company or payment provider, and retain any case or dispute reference numbers.
- Follow instructions from relevant authorities. If you believe you need to report the matter, contact the appropriate authority directly for guidance in your location. Statements by cast members encouraging customers to contact law enforcement are not a guarantee of reimbursement.
The Federal Maritime Commission has advised passengers affected by the separate American Queen Voyages shutdown to consider contacting their credit-card issuer and travel insurer. That guidance concerns a different operator and does not determine a Showroom Travel customer’s rights or refund outcome. See the FMC notice dated February 22, 2024.
