The only specific figures located are estimates attributed to an unnamed source in a 2024 Music Times report. Ranked by those reported amounts—not by confirmed garment values—the three claims are a three-costume Roberto Cavalli group, an Oscar de la Renta dress, and a Versace costume. The Cavalli amount covers three costumes, so it is not directly comparable to either single garment.
Reported estimates, ranked with their limitations
Music Times published the following figures on May 27, 2024, attributing them to an unnamed source. It did not disclose how the amounts were calculated. They should be read as unverified reported estimates, not established retail prices, production costs, replacement values, or insurance valuations.

This is a ranking of the amounts that one secondary report attributes to its source. It is not a verified ranking of what each outfit cost. In particular, the $255,000 figure is for three Cavalli costumes; dividing it by three would produce only arithmetic on an unverified group estimate, not a known price for any specific costume.
Who designed the Eras Tour looks?
The wardrobe drew on multiple fashion houses and was made for performance rather than assembled as a fixed set of retail outfits. Looks could also change or have alternate versions during the tour, so “the outfit” may not refer to one identical garment worn at every show.

Lover and Fearless
Marie Claire describes four custom Atelier Versace bodysuits for the Lover era, paired with Christian Louboutin boots; a coordinating blazer was worn for “The Man.” Fashionista also identifies the opening rainbow-rhinestoned look as Versace-designed. For Fearless, Marie Claire describes fringe-dress versions by Roberto Cavalli and Naeem Khan. Fashionista notes that the gold Cavalli dress deliberately called back to Swift’s 2009 tour look. Reputation and Enchanted
Fashionista describes the Reputation look as an asymmetrical Roberto Cavalli bodysuit embroidered with sequined snakes; Marie Claire notes that the look changed during the tour. For Enchanted, Fashionista identifies an initial gold-sequined Nicole + Felicia ballgown and a pink tulle variation by Zuhair Murad. These examples show why a designer label alone does not establish a comparable price for every version of a stage look.

Folklore and Midnights
Marie Claire identifies custom Alberta Ferretti looks for Folklore. Fashionista describes a flowing purple Ferretti dress and a cream beaded variation. Marie Claire and Music Times connect Oscar de la Renta with a Midnights look; the reported $140,000 estimate above comes from Music Times and remains unverified. Alberta Ferretti described the costumes as “an integral part of the storytelling,” as quoted by Marie Claire.
Why the outfits are difficult to rank by price
- The units differ: one report gives a total for three Cavalli costumes, while its other figures refer to a costume and a dress.
- The values are not independently established: the figures come from an unnamed source, with no disclosed method or consistent basis for comparison.
- Stagewear is not ordinary retail clothing: the sources document custom garments and performance details, but do not establish a retail price, construction cost, resale value, replacement cost, or insured value for each look.
- The wardrobe evolved: reported designer descriptions include variations and updates, so a single estimate cannot safely be applied to every version or performance.
Consequently, the available figures support a list of reported estimates, not a definitive answer to which individual Eras Tour outfit was most expensive.

The footwear was built for a live show
The costumes were only part of the stage wardrobe. Marie Claire reports that Swift had more than 250 pairs of custom Christian Louboutin shoes made for the tour. EL PAÍS says Louboutin collaborated with Swift and stylist Joseph Cassell on boots, loafers, lace-up shoes, and heels, with as many as nine pairs used in a concert. The footwear was designed around movement, stability, grip, and quick changes: EL PAÍS reports rubber soles and a mix of block heels and flats. EL PAÍS, November 29, 2024 discusses the custom shoes and the official tour book, which includes an original sketch of Swift’s white boots.
