What was reported about Taylor Swift?
Contemporaneous coverage by E! Online reported that Swift cheered Kelce during the September 20 game. The report’s accessible listing supports that general description, but not a direct quote from Swift or a detailed account of her gestures. The official recaps from Kansas City and Indianapolis focus on the game and do not discuss Swift.
How did the Chiefs beat the Colts?
The teams were tied 30–30 late in regulation. Each scored a field goal on its first overtime possession. On Kansas City’s next possession, Kenneth Walker III caught a pass for a 22-yard gain, helping set up Butker’s winning kick. The Chiefs’ recap lists the winning field goal as 40 yards; the Colts’ recap also describes it as 40 yards in its opening summary.
The kick that won the game came after the teams’ first overtime possessions, not on Kansas City’s initial trip. Indianapolis’ Spencer Shrader had made a 38-yard field goal to tie the score during overtime, according to the Colts’ recap.

Kelce’s role in the game
Kelce caught a 13-yard touchdown pass from Patrick Mahomes during Kansas City’s early scoring sequence. He finished with nine catches for 101 yards, according to the Chiefs’ game recap. His touchdown and receiving total connect the reported Swift cheering to Kelce’s play, though he did not score the game-winning points.
Mahomes completed 32 of 47 passes for 382 yards and three touchdowns, also according to Kansas City’s recap. Head coach Andy Reid described the contest as a close team effort: “It was a battle to the end there,” he said. “I’m glad we came out with a win. That’s well-deserved by the guys for persevering through it.”
