They announced their engagement on Aug. 26, 2025, but the public reporting does not establish that the holiday gathering led to the engagement—or when or where Kelce proposed.
What Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce did for Thanksgiving
According to an unnamed source in a People report, Swift’s family invited the Kelces to Nashville for Thanksgiving in 2024. Harper’s Bazaar and Elle summarized the report on Dec. 2, describing it as the couple’s first Thanksgiving together. Harper’s Bazaar’s account and Elle’s report do not present a first-person account from either family.

Elle relayed the unnamed source’s description of the gathering as “very festive and special.” That characterization is attributed to the source, not to Swift or Kelce.
The holiday fell during a busy stretch for Kelce: the Kansas City Chiefs played the Las Vegas Raiders on Nov. 29, 2024, the day after Thanksgiving. The Associated Press reported that Swift attended the Black Friday game. AP’s game-day report provides context for the timing, but does not independently document the private family gathering.

The available reporting establishes a sequence: the couple’s first Thanksgiving together was reported in 2024, and they announced their engagement in 2025. It does not establish a causal link between the Nashville gathering and the proposal. The engagement announcement date is public; the proposal’s date and location were not established in AP’s account.
