Why was Hayley Williams part of the performance?
Williams is featured on the studio recording of “Castles Crumbling,” a vault track on Speak Now (Taylor’s Version). Their London duet brought the two performers together for a song they had already recorded as a collaboration.
How did the duet fit into the Eras Tour show?
Swift performed the song in the tour’s surprise-song portion, a segment outside the standard fixed setlist. Paramore, Williams’s band, was the opening act for the Eras Tour’s UK and EU dates; Williams’s appearance for this song was a guest performance with Swift, not an opening set.
