The seven-minute digital single marked the project’s Columbia Records debut and arrived with a music video directed by Julian Klincewicz.
When did “End of Summer” come out?
The single was released July 25, 2025, according to Sony Music Japan’s announcement and its Apple Music listing. Sony Music Japan described it as Tame Impala’s first new song since 2020’s The Slow Rush and the first release in the project’s Columbia Records era. That makes the roughly five-year gap the label’s framing of the interval, rather than a separate chart or release statistic.

How long is the single, and what does it sound like?
Apple Music lists the digital single as one song with a duration of seven minutes. Sony Music Japan describes its sound in terms of house, electro and trance; Sony Music Spain also presents it through dance music and evokes acid-house summers and mid-1990s parties. Those are label descriptions, not a definitive genre classification.
The length and dance-music framing make the track a substantial change of pace to explore for listeners who know Tame Impala chiefly through The Slow Rush. The release sources establish the single’s format and describe its musical palette, but do not provide a verified track-specific chart position, sales total or streaming count.
