That distinction matters. A deliberately mocking award can capture a reputation or make a point about a performer’s public image, but it does not establish that the recipient was worse than every actor of the century. How to judge the claim fairly

- Fit: Does the performance suit the material and the film’s intended tone?
These criteria do not produce a single numerical answer, and the sources available here do not support a film-by-film ranking. They do, however, show why a blanket superlative is too simple: a performer can be inconsistent, limited in range, or poorly matched to some roles without being the worst actor of an entire century.
Why Rocky complicates the verdict
Stallone’s official biography says he played the title role in his own screenplay for Rocky, which won the Academy Award for Best Picture in 1976. Those are meaningful counterpoints to the Razzie label, but they need careful interpretation. Best Picture recognizes a film, not an actor’s performance in isolation; an Oscar nomination is evidence of recognition, not proof that every performance is strong. The case for Stallone’s acting should rest on what he does on screen, not on awards alone. The available sources establish the career context, but do not provide enough film-specific criticism to rank individual roles here.

What the Razzie totals can—and cannot—tell you
Published totals differ by source and date, so they should not be treated as a current count. In 2006, the Los Angeles Times reported ten Razzie awards for Stallone. A CBS search-result description gives nine wins, but its date and counting scope are not established in the available material. Neither figure is a verified current total, and the difference cautions against using an undated number as proof of a career-wide verdict.
Stallone’s own reflection on his reputation

Rocky, his reported Best Actor nomination, and the limits of the available comparative evidence all argue against treating the superlative as settled fact. The fairest answer is that the title is a satirical judgment; whether Stallone is a good actor is better considered through specific performances and clearly stated criteria.
