Sydney Sweeney’s lake-day swimsuit was described as a navy, backless one-piece with a thong-cut bottom, two straps and a pink tassel at the hip. The report does not identify its brand or model.
What Sydney Sweeney wore on the boat trip
In an August 26, 2024 style report, Meg Walters of AOL described Sweeney sharing an Instagram Stories photo from a sunny boat trip. The swimsuit was navy, with a covered front and an open back held by two straps. Its bottom was thong-cut, and a pink tassel provided a bright accent at the hip.
The same look included a dark brown straw sun hat with a navy ribbon. The report also described a video posted the previous day that showed the swimsuit from the front: a low V-neck and more coverage than the backless cut might suggest.
What is—and isn’t—known about the swimsuit
AOL did not name the swimsuit’s maker, brand or model. The available description is enough to identify the look’s main features, but not to confirm a specific product or retailer. Any swimsuit described as similar should be treated as a style comparison, not an exact match.

Why the lake photos drew attention
AOL connected the boat-trip post to Sweeney’s comments about sharing a less polished, more personal side of herself. The report quoted her recalling a Women’s Health interview: “I wrote that caption because everyone with me was like, ‘Wow, really wish the world could see Lake Syd,’ because it’s just who I am.”
The report also cited her remarks in a People discussion of her HEYDUDE partnership: “Fashion is a really fun way of embracing different sides of yourself. Some days, I might feel very girly, some days, I might feel edgy,” The swimsuit’s contrast between a covered front and a daring back fits that sense of changing style, though the comments do not establish why she chose this particular look.
