The first episode of Sweet Home Season 3 was released on July 19, 2024. Its brief official synopsis follows Hyun-su as he tries to restore Yi-kyung’s humanity, while Sergeant Kim battles monsters to escape with his men.
What happens in Season 3, Episode 1?
The available episode synopsis centers on two urgent efforts: Hyun-su trying to bring Yi-kyung’s humanity back, and Sergeant Kim facing monsters as he attempts to get away with his men. That is the extent of the concise published synopsis; it does not establish a detailed scene-by-scene account. Rotten Tomatoes’ episode listing identifies the episode and its premise.

How does the premiere fit into the final season?
Netflix describes Season 3 as the climax of the monsterization story, where the boundaries between humans and monsters blur and neohumans emerge. Netflix Tudum identifies it as the series’ final season and says it has eight episodes. That wider framing gives the premiere’s struggle over Yi-kyung’s humanity added significance, but it should not be mistaken for a full account of everything that happens in this episode.
The season announcement also sets up several continuing threads: Nam Sang-won appears in Pyeon Sang-wook’s body; Eun-hyeok is born anew from a cocoon; Yi-kyung feels both love and fear for her monster-born child, Kid; Eun-yu develops into a warrior; Private Park shadows Eun-yu; and Master Sergeant Tak and Kim Yeong-hu pursue a shared goal by different means. These are season-level storylines, not claims that each receives equal attention in the premiere. See Netflix’s Season 3 announcement and the Netflix Tudum Season 3 guide.

What the Season 3 trailer adds—and what it does not
Netflix’s trailer announcement describes season-wide conflicts and survival action: Hyun-su and Sang-wook’s paths lead to a final face-off, Hyun-su and Eun-hyeok face action together, Yi-kyung returns after being consumed by a monster, and Eun-yu and Chan-young fight to survive. These are trailer and season context, not verified events from Episode 1. Director Lee Eung-bok said he hoped viewers would root for characters fighting in their own ways, including Sang-wook’s battle with Hyun-su, Yi-kyung’s effort to protect Kid, and Sergeant Tak’s sense of responsibility for survivors’ safety. The comments and trailer details appear in Netflix’s July 3, 2024 trailer announcement.
