The reason TV Insider reported for her decision was family time: Jones wanted to be more present for her children’s school year and activities.
Why did Ashley Jones leave Swamp People?
TV Insider reported that Jones stepped away to spend more time with her children. According to the outlet, she said missing the first month of school affected their school year, and she wanted to be there for their activities. This explanation is attributed to Jones’s reported Instagram announcement; the original post has not been independently verified here. TV Insider’s report was published January 6, 2026.

Is Ashley Jones retiring for good?
That is not established. TV Insider quoted Jones’s announcement as: “Well y’all I’m retiring from Swamp People (or fore sure taking a break)!” The wording itself leaves open the possibility that she meant a break rather than a permanent departure. TV Insider also reported that she hoped to return for guest appearances, but that is not confirmation of a future appearance.
When did Ashley Jones appear on the show?
TV Insider says Jones appeared on Swamp People for six seasons, from 2019 through 2024. Her announcement followed that run in January 2025. The HISTORY Channel’s cast listing includes Jones, but a cast-page listing alone does not confirm current filming or participation in new episodes.
