Survivor: David vs. Goliath was the show’s 37th season, broadcast from September to December 2018. Its 20 new castaways began in two tribes of 10: David and Goliath. Here’s who was on each starting tribe, using the ages, locations and occupations CBS reported when it announced the cast in 2018.
What did the David vs. Goliath theme mean?
The season’s premise divided the contestants into two groups based on their relationship to adversity and advantage. CBS described the David tribe as people who had overcome adversity, and the Goliath tribe as people who tended to capitalize on individual advantages. The labels framed the season; they are not a complete description of any contestant’s personality or abilities.
In the cast announcement, host and executive producer Jeff Probst said: “It’s two very different approaches to life, but SURVIVOR is the great equalizer because you never know which skill set will be most useful in this cunning game of social politics.”
