Spoilers for Survivor 50, Season 50 Episode 6, “The Blood Moon.” The episode ended with Kamilla Karthigesu, Genevieve Mushaluk and Colby Donaldson voted out in three separate Tribal Councils—the first same-night triple elimination in Survivor history, according to dated recap coverage. None of the three joined the jury.

What happened in the Blood Moon episode?

Episode 6, “The Blood Moon,” aired April 1, 2026, according to CBS’s official Survivor episode guide. It began with 17 players entering the merge. A message told them to “Drop your buffs,” and a hidden advantage in the jungle changed who would face the night’s votes.

Ozzy Lusth found the advantage and was sent to Exile Island with a player of his choice. He chose Rizo Velovic. The other 15 castaways were randomly divided into three groups of five. Each group competed in its own endurance challenge: the winner earned individual immunity, while the longest-lasting player overall also won a Sanctuary reward for the group.

After the challenges, the three groups went to separate Tribal Councils on the same night. Each group voted out one player, producing three eliminations in a single episode.

Who was voted out on Survivor 50?

Group Players Immunity and vote
Orange Jonathan Young, Stephenie LaGrossa Kendrick, Tiffany Ervin, Kamilla Karthigesu and Chrissy Hofbeck Kamilla Karthigesu was voted out 3–2.
Pink/Purple Genevieve Mushaluk, Aubry Bracco, Christian Hubicki, Rick Devens and Joe Hunter Genevieve Mushaluk played her Shot in the Dark, but was voted out 4–0.
Teal Cirie Fields, Emily Flippen, Colby Donaldson, Benjamin “Coach” Wade and Dee Valladares Colby Donaldson was voted out at the final Tribal Council of the night.

The episode’s three exits were Kamilla, Genevieve and Colby. Their votes changed the remaining game numbers, but none counted toward the jury: all three were excluded from it.

How did the Blood Moon twist work?

  1. The merge began with 17 players. They were told to drop their buffs.
  2. Ozzy found an advantage. It sent him to Exile Island with one chosen companion; he selected Rizo.
  3. The other 15 players drew into three groups of five. The split was random.
  4. Each group competed separately. One player in each group won individual immunity; the best overall endurance performer also earned a Sanctuary reward for the group.
  5. Each group held its own Tribal Council. Each vote eliminated one castaway, so three people left during the episode.

The format therefore exposed 15 players to three separate votes, while Ozzy and Rizo were away on Exile Island. It was not one large Tribal Council with three sequential votes: the groups competed and voted independently.

Why was the triple elimination historic?

Dated recap coverage described this as the first time Survivor eliminated three players in the same night. The unusual result came from combining a merged cast with three randomly assigned groups, separate immunity challenges and three Tribal Councils in one episode. Jeff Probst’s explanation, reproduced by Parade’s episode recap, was that the season aimed to be memorable by doing something rare: “When we were putting together this season, we had one goal. We wanted to do our best to make it memorable. And in order for it to be memorable, it’s got to be something rare. That’s what makes it special.”

TVLine reported Probst’s figure that 63% of fans said, “I love twists, bring ’em on!” That is a figure attributed to Probst in the recap, not an independently established survey result.
